What is the cause of cold and fever in children?

We all know that children's body resistance is relatively fragile, and they may catch a cold or fever if they are not careful. Therefore, we recommend that mothers should know how to treat children's colds and fevers. For children with colds and wind-heat, we recommend that mothers should take their children for examination in time, listen to the doctor's advice on taking medication, and know how to care for their babies with wind-heat.

Due to weather changes and other reasons, babies are more likely to catch wind-heat colds in spring, which are usually manifested by: high fever, but not obvious fear of cold and wind; blocked nose but runny nose, heavy cough, or thick yellow sputum; headache, thirst and desire to drink, red, dry, painful and itchy throat; dry stool and yellow urine. Examination may reveal swollen tonsils, congestion in the pharynx, thin yellow or thick yellow tongue coating, red tongue, and a floating and rapid pulse. An old Chinese doctor summarized the typical symptoms of wind-heat cold as "three yellows": yellow and thick nasal discharge, yellow and thick sputum, and yellow tongue coating.

If your baby shows symptoms of a wind-heat cold, you can choose Beijing Tong Ren Tang’s pediatric cold granules, which include patchouli, chrysanthemum, forsythia, isatis indigotica, isatis root, rehmannia root, lycium bark, iris grandiflora, mint, and gypsum. It has the effects of dispelling wind and relieving exterior symptoms, clearing away heat and detoxifying. It is used for wind-heat cold in children, with symptoms of fever, headache, cough with sticky sputum, and sore throat; and influenza with the above symptoms. Experts remind that children's cold granules are suitable for wind-heat colds, and should be used with caution by those with wind-cold colds.

The most important thing for babies who are prone to catching colds is prevention. The key is to improve the driving force of health, enhance the body's immunity and ability to fight and prevent diseases. Therefore, parents should encourage their children to exercise more, eat a balanced diet, and remind them to drink more water.

If the baby suffers from a wind-heat cold, parents should let the child rest more and avoid eating sour foods, such as sauerkraut, sour grapes, sour pears, plums, lemons, hawthorns and olives. You can eat some light foods, such as chrysanthemum, cabbage, white radish, sweet pear, sweet orange and so on. During the medication period, you can prepare some liquid food for your baby, such as easily digestible noodles or porridge.

This article introduces in detail the causes of colds and wind-heat in children. We hope that mothers can pay attention to them and avoid these causes in time. As for diseases such as colds and wind-heat in children, as long as our mothers control them in time, it will generally not cause much harm to the children's health.
