How to treat congenital malformations in babies?

Everyone knows that pregnant women need to have regular prenatal checkups after pregnancy. The significance of prenatal checkups is that they can detect some congenital malformations of the baby, so that surgical intervention can be carried out in advance, and surgical treatment after the baby is born can be prepared in time, which will also be helpful for the baby's health. If the baby is deformed, it will affect the pregnant woman, so the editor below will introduce the treatment methods for congenital malformations of the baby.

Interventional treatment

Fetoscopic therapy: Currently it is mainly used to treat twin-twin transfusion syndrome. There are reports abroad that it is used for minimally invasive treatment of meningocele, fetoscopic test tube ultrasound examination, etc.

Radiofrequency ablation therapy: mainly used in monochorionic twin reduction surgery, etc.

Open fetal surgery

In the general sense, open fetal surgery refers to a treatment method in which the uterine cavity is opened in the second trimester of pregnancy, surgical treatment is performed on the fetus under direct vision, and then the pregnancy continues. The main treatment is for malformations that may affect the safety of the fetus in utero and the health of the newborn, such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia, pulmonary cystadenoma, spina bifida, etc. It is mostly reported abroad, but less carried out in China due to cultural differences and other reasons. And its surgical indications, effects and prognosis still need to be further explored.

Intrapartum surgery, delivery room surgery

Intrapartum fetal surgery refers to the surgical treatment of birth defects performed during and immediately after fetal delivery, including umbilical cord surgery, extrauterine intrapartum management, delivery room surgery, and the combination of the latter two. Extrauterine delivery management is a type of fetal surgery, which involves removing factors that hinder fetal breathing while maintaining fetal-placental circulation.

Delivery room surgery refers to early surgical intervention in the delivery room immediately after delivery (including cesarean section) for children with surgical malformations. With the rapid development of prenatal diagnosis, the success rate and safety of intrapartum fetal surgery are greatly improved.

The baby's deformity may be caused by the pregnant woman's carelessness during pregnancy, so it is recommended that pregnant women stay away from computers and mobile phones after pregnancy. Also, they must not eat foods that may cause unhealthy fetuses. If problems are found with the child, timely adjustments can be made. Eugenics and good upbringing can bring happiness to society and families.
