What causes stomach pain and vomiting in children?

Children's bodies are very different from ours, and their resistance in all aspects of the body is not as good as that of adults. Therefore, they are very prone to getting sick, which really has a great impact and distress on parents. Among them, the baby has stomach pain and vomiting, so parents want to ask what is the matter with children's stomach pain and vomiting? Let the editor introduce it to all parents below, I hope everyone can understand it.

1. Intestinal spasm. This is the most likely cause of stomach pain in children. In the pediatric surgery clinic of the Children's Hospital, most of the children's stomach pain is caused by pediatric intestinal spasm (intestinal cramps). It occurs in children from 1.2 years old to 11.12 years old. The most common is between 4.5 and 5.6 years old. The main cause of intestinal spasm is improper eating (such as eating too much, eating a lot of cold food, etc.). At this time, the child does not have a certain tender point (the stomach is soft). He can eat and drink. He is in good spirits. The treatment method is to take belladonna with phenergan, chlorpheniramine, etc. together. Parents are very anxious when this happens, but generally there is no big problem.

2. Acute pancreatitis. Children aged 2.3 years old do not get it very often. Children aged 4.5 years and above have a relatively higher incidence. The cause is mostly overeating, and most of them are greasy and indigestible food. Pancreatitis caused by bile duct ascariasis blocking the bile duct (this situation is rare). Leukemia patients used L-mendomidase. The symptom is pain on the upper left side of the belly button. Parents at home found that the child ate a lot and had stomach pain (wrapped legs). They did not allow the child to touch the upper left side of the belly button. Pancreatitis can be cured in general. However, acute hemorrhagic necrotizing pancreatitis can quickly lead to shock. The symptoms are severe stomach pain (the child does not allow parents to touch the stomach), vomiting, poor mental state, and gray complexion. If rescue is not timely, it can lead to death. The first first aid for pancreatitis is fasting. Then adjust the liquid diet.

3. Enteritis. Mainly pain in the lower abdomen centered around the navel, accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea. The stomach feels soft and there is no fixed tenderness point. Enteritis is usually caused by eating unclean food. Just pay attention to food hygiene in daily life.

4. Appendicitis. Mainly right lower abdominal pain. Children aged 2 or 3 have abdominal pain and obvious abdominal distension. Accompanied by vomiting. The whole abdomen is tender. Do not touch it. The fever may be over 38 degrees. Children aged 2 or 3 should be taken more seriously because it is easy to cause perforation and peritonitis. Children over 10 years old will have upper abdominal pain (or stomach pain) when they have appendicitis. After a few hours, the pain will shift to the right lower abdominal pain. Some children are accompanied by nausea and vomiting. There is a very obvious tender point in the right lower abdomen. Do not touch it. The pain may be accompanied by a low fever of more than 37 degrees to 38 degrees. It may also reach 39 degrees.

5. Intussusception. Children aged 6 months to 1 year old cry. Parents should consider whether the child has a stomachache. If the child cries in bursts, 10-20 minutes at a time, and each cry lasts for 5-6 minutes before returning to normal, this is most likely intussusception. One intestinal tube protrudes into another intestinal tube, causing spasms and bursts of pain (wrapping the body). This is primary intussusception. Then vomiting follows. A few hours later, blood in the stool (like red jam or bean curd soup) is present. Changes in eating habits are one of the important causes of intussusception. Children aged 5 or 6 years old often have a small tumor on the ileocecal region. Starting from the small tumor, it is entangled in the intestines, causing intussusception. This is secondary intussusception. Careful parents can feel a mass on the child's stomach, like a sausage, about 4-6 cm. As time changes, intussusception also changes. At first, it may be in the right upper abdomen, then the upper abdomen, and then the left lower abdomen. Some intussusceptions are particularly loose and can protrude from the anus.

6. Intestinal obstruction. Different ages have different intestinal obstructions. Children who have suffered from fetal peritonitis may also suffer from intestinal obstruction. Children who have undergone abdominal surgery may also develop adhesive intestinal obstruction. The symptoms are intermittent pain around the navel, accompanied by vomiting, vomiting undigested food. Young children vomit milk curds and then vomit bile-like things. Sometimes, the child's intestines can be seen clearly in rows, and there are tender points on the abdomen when touched (pain in an irregular position, not allowed to be touched).

From the above, we know that there are many reasons for children's abdominal pain and vomiting, so parents must pay attention. Be it diet or hygiene, they must be maintained well. This will help take good care of your children and prevent physical problems. This is the better care for your children.
