How old is it to wean a baby boy?

Many mothers have been insisting on breastfeeding their children since the moment they were born, so that the baby's body will be healthier, because breast milk is the most nutritious milk, which cannot be compared with milk powder. This also shows the greatness of our maternal love. From the day of breastfeeding the baby, there will be a day to wean the baby. We all know that breastfeeding is simple, but weaning is quite troublesome. So at what age should a boy be weaned?

1. It is best to wean the baby when he is twelve months old, because at this stage the baby's digestive function has basically matured, the demand for food is increasing, and he can gradually adapt to food other than breast milk.

2. Be mentally prepared and keep calm. Don't feel sad or lost because after your baby is weaned, you no longer have the intimate communication you had during the breastfeeding period. Therefore, when we wean our babies, we must understand that weaning is a necessity for the baby's healthy growth, and we should feel gratified and proud that the baby's growth has entered a new stage.

3. When the baby is four months old, start to add some food gradually and appropriately according to the baby's age to meet the nutrition needed for the baby's healthy growth, such as egg custard, vegetable puree, fish puree, fruit juice, etc. Change the variety and taste more often to let the baby know that there are many delicious things besides mother's milk. In addition, let the baby slowly adapt to eating with bowls, spoons, and chopsticks, and make adequate preparations for the baby's future weaning.

4. When the baby is ten months old, reduce one feeding per day and add some weaning food in appropriate amounts. After a week, if the baby's absorption and digestion are good, you can reduce one meal of milk. After the baby is successfully weaned during the day, slowly stop feeding the baby at night until the baby is completely weaned. Wean your baby during the day first, because there are many new things to attract the baby during the day, so the baby will not be too attached to the mother and the milk. However, the baby will usually stick to the mother at night, and the baby needs to get comfort from sucking breast milk, so weaning the baby should be done slowly, and don't rush for quick results.

5. When weaning your baby, the mother must have the determination and decisive attitude to wean the baby, and at the same time be able to allow the baby to gradually adapt to some changes in diet after weaning. During the weaning period, you must not stop weaning the baby within the first few days when you see the baby crying and feel distressed, and then continue to wean the baby a few days later. This will not only fail to wean the baby, but may also cause some psychological harm to the baby.

6. Do not use harsh methods during weaning, such as suddenly leaving the baby or applying spicy or bitter things on the nipples to scare the baby. Doing so will only make the baby's mood worse and unwilling to eat. The baby will also cry due to lack of security, and it will also affect the baby's healthy growth and development.

There is no fixed time for weaning a baby. It depends on the baby's condition and the nutrition of the baby's breast milk. The nutrition of breast milk will gradually become lower and lower. If you find that the breast milk is slowly turning into clear water, then you can consider weaning the baby, because the nutrition of breast milk is no longer good at this time. If the child is still young, then you must insist on feeding the child, as breastfed children are in the best health.
