Why do babies wake up easily when they sleep?

We all know that everyone who takes care of a baby hopes that the baby can fall asleep quietly and sleep longer. However, many situations are completely the opposite. Sometimes the baby falls asleep and suddenly wakes up for some unknown reason. This is not a easy thing to do, because the baby is very likely to cry at this time, which will not only make the adults who are taking care of him easily tired, but it will also be bad for the baby's body. So, why do babies wake up easily when they sleep?

1. Physiological factors: Since the nervous system of infants and young children is not yet fully developed, the excitation and inhibition functions of the nerves are not coordinated enough, and they are easily excited. Any slight external stimulation may cause excitement of the nervous system and cause the baby to wake up. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. As the baby grows up, the function of the nervous system will gradually improve, and this physiological phenomenon will naturally disappear.

2. Overeating: As the saying goes, "If the stomach is not in good condition, you cannot sleep well." Some mothers always give their children snacks before bedtime regardless of whether their children are hungry or not, which makes the children feel uncomfortable and affects their sleep quality. This is especially true for breastfeeding babies. Some mothers are accustomed to breastfeeding and accompanying their babies to sleep. As a result, the children eat too much milk while sleeping, have abdominal distension and wake up easily. After waking up, the young mothers immediately use milk to comfort them, resulting in a vicious circle.

3. Disease factors: Intestinal parasitic disease in children is the most common cause of unstable sleep in young children. For example, parasitic diseases can cause indigestion and malnutrition in children, and they may also develop symptoms such as anemia and irritability. Children with early rickets also often sleep and wake up easily.

4. Environmental factors: When children are sleeping, the indoor light is too strong, family members watching TV and talking and laughing loudly will disturb the normal sleep of the children and easily wake them up; children are prone to kicking the quilt at night, or the quilt is too thick and heavy, which will cause the child to be too cold or too hot when sleeping, causing the children to be irritable and restless, and move their hands and feet around, which is also a common cause of waking up easily during sleep.

5. Overexcitement: Some children play too much during the day or before going to bed, or listen to or watch thrilling stories or watch TV. This can often cause difficulty for young children to fall asleep; even if they fall asleep, children with better and faster intellectual development will "think about it during the day and dream about it at night", and children may often wake up from their dreams.

The above are the reasons why babies are easily awakened when they are asleep, which I have summarized for you. In normal times, we should pay attention to avoid the occurrence of the above situations, so that we can prevent the baby from waking up. Of course, you may have many good experiences that can ensure your baby's sleep quality, and everyone is welcome to share. I hope that reading this article will be helpful to everyone.
