How to treat neonatal pneumonia?

When the baby is 20 days old, he may often develop pneumonia. When the baby is two months old, he will choke on water and milk, and often has some coughing. There are many oral liquids and anti-inflammatory drugs, but the effects are not very good. In this case, many parents suspect that there is inflammation in the baby's throat. In fact, this is not the case. So what should be done if the newborn has pneumonia?

Pneumonia refers to inflammation of the terminal airways, alveoli, and lung interstitium. It can be caused by pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, as well as physical and chemical factors such as radiation and inhaled foreign matter. The main clinical symptoms are fever, cough, sputum, blood in the sputum, which may be accompanied by chest pain or difficulty breathing. In children with pneumonia, the symptoms are often not obvious, and there may be a mild cough. Bacterial pneumonia is treated with antibiotics and can be cured in 7 to 10 days. Viral pneumonia is a milder form of the disease that cannot be cured by antibiotics.

There are many causes of pneumonia, such as bacteria (pneumococcus, type 1 hemolytic streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc.), viruses (coronavirus, adenovirus, influenza virus, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex virus, etc.), fungi (Candida albicans, Aspergillus, Actinomyces, etc.), atypical pathogens (such as Legionella, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, Rickettsia, Toxoplasma, protozoa, etc.), and physical and chemical factors (radioactivity, gastric acid inhalation, drugs, etc.). According to the anatomical location, it can be divided into lobar pneumonia, lobular pneumonia, and interstitial pneumonia. According to the course of the disease, it is divided into acute pneumonia, protracted pneumonia and chronic pneumonia.

The disease has an acute onset, often with triggers such as rain, cold, and fatigue. About 1/3 of patients have a history of upper respiratory tract infection. The natural course of the disease is 7 to 10 days.

Now there may be inflammation in the baby's throat. You can measure the baby's temperature. If there is no fever, just follow the doctor's instructions and take the correct medicine. If it is pneumonia, the symptoms will be more serious than this situation.
