Skipping Rope for ADHD

Skipping Rope for ADHD

In our lives, many children are prone to ADHD, especially when they are young. If parents do not treat them, they are very likely to have sequelae when they grow up. There are many ways to treat ADHD. The main principle is to allow children to concentrate and focus on one thing. So, is skipping rope effective in treating ADHD?

ADHD is a type of hyperactivity disorder that is often seen in children. It is also a psychological disorder. It is mainly an abnormal behavioral disease caused by a slight disorder in brain function. Children with ADHD have normal intelligence, but because they cannot concentrate, are easily impulsive, and have poor learning ability. With the development of modern medical technology, it is found that exercise has a significant therapeutic effect. So, can skipping rope treat ADHD?

Can skipping rope treat ADHD?

1. Relevant medical experts have conducted research and tests on exercise therapy for ADHD children. In the first phase, 32 ADHD children aged 8-12 were recruited to test the correlation between their motor ability and impulse control ability. In the second phase, 28 ADHD children aged 8-12 were recruited. Through brain wave experiments, it was proved that ADHD children with better physical fitness have brain waves closer to normal children.

In the third phase of the study, 27 ADHD children aged between 8 and 12 were recruited. They were asked to imitate various animals in the water for 8 weeks, twice a week, for 90 minutes each time, to train the children's coordination and balance abilities. After 8 weeks, retest results showed that the control ability of the children improved by an average of 9%.

2. Research results show that long-term exercise can bring significant changes to hyperactive children. If there are hyperactive children at home, you can incorporate exercise into their daily lives. Rope skipping is an excellent choice because it is easy to operate and can stimulate the concentration of children's hands, eyes, and feet. After exercising every day, it will significantly improve children's concentration.

What is ADHD

1. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), also known as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or mild brain dysfunction syndrome, is a common abnormal behavioral disease in children.

2. The intelligence of these children is normal or basically normal. However, they have defects in learning, behavior and emotions, which are mainly manifested in inattention, short attention span, excessive activity, impulsive emotions, generally poor academic performance, difficulty getting along with others at home and school, and often make parents and teachers feel helpless in daily life.

3. The prevalence of ADHD is reported to be between 5% and 10% abroad, and domestic surveys show it is above 10%. Boys are more likely to suffer from ADHD than girls. Premature babies and babies born by cesarean section have a higher chance of suffering from ADHD, about 60% or more.

ADHD is a symptom caused by the excessive growth of children's brain tissue, so it cannot be treated simply by skipping rope. However, as a very good form of exercise, medical research has shown that skipping rope is very effective in promoting the concentration of hyperactive children. Moreover, this form of exercise is simple and requires high coordination of the limbs. Regular skipping rope is very effective in treating hyperactive children.
