What to do if your baby coughs while feeding

After the baby is born, many mothers prefer breastfeeding because breastfeeding can improve the child's physical fitness and immunity. Many babies will cough during the breastfeeding process, which will only allow milk to enter the baby's respiratory tract and cause respiratory tract infections, etc. This is a problem that many mothers are more concerned about. Let us introduce what to do if the baby coughs while breastfeeding?

1. If vomiting occurs while lying down, the baby's face should be turned to one side quickly. The baby should cough after feeding to prevent the vomit from flowing back into the throat and trachea. For mild spitting up or regurgitation of milk, the baby will adjust his breathing and swallowing actions by himself, and the milk will not be inhaled into the trachea. You only need to observe the baby's breathing status and skin color closely. If you vomit a lot of milk, you can deal with it as follows:

2. Wrap a handkerchief around your fingers and put it into your mouth and even your throat to quickly clean out the spit and spilled milk and food to keep the respiratory tract unobstructed, then use a small cotton swab to clean your nostrils.

3. When the baby holds his breath or his face turns dark, it means that the vomit may have entered the trachea. Make him lie prone on the adult's lap or bed, and pat his back four or five times to make him cough it out. Generally speaking, if the baby chokes occasionally, it is most likely because the mother's feeding posture is incorrect, such as feeding the baby while lying in bed, or feeding the baby while half awake and half asleep in the arms, or the child has a stuffy nose or a cold. However, if the baby often chokes and coughs when eating milk, it is mostly due to vitamin A deficiency.

The above is the solution to the baby's cough while feeding. Once the baby's cough occurs, the milk enters the baby's respiratory tract and must be cleaned in time. If it is not cleaned, it will cause infection and hinder the baby's breathing. During feeding, do not let the baby's head too low, so as to effectively avoid such a situation.
