Coughing and shortness of breath are relieved when sputum is discharged. It is often accompanied by fatigue, abdominal distension, loose stools, greasy white tongue coating, and slippery pulse.

Phlegm-heat in the lungs

Symptoms: Coughing and shortness of breath, or phlegm in the throat, thick and sticky phlegm or yellow phlegm, uncomfortable coughing and spitting, or phlegm with hot and fishy smell, or coughing and spitting bloody phlegm, chest and flank distension, or chest pain caused by coughing, red face, or body fever, dry mouth and thirst, thin yellow and greasy tongue coating, red tongue, and slippery and rapid pulse.

Lung Yin deficiency

Symptoms: dry cough, short cough, little sticky white sputum, or blood in the sputum, or gradually hoarse voice, dry mouth and throat, often accompanied by hot flashes in the afternoon, hot hands and feet, night sweats, dry mouth, red tongue with little coating, or little saliva on the tongue, and a thin and rapid pulse.

Yin deficiency dry cough

Symptoms: dry cough without sputum, or little and sticky sputum. It is often accompanied by afternoon hot flashes, hot hands and feet, night sweats, dry mouth, red tongue with little coating, or little fluid on the tongue, and a thin and rapid pulse.

Cough Massage Addition and Subtraction

If it is wind-heat or phlegm-heat, massage Neilaogong and Xinshu 50 to 100 times; and Tui Liufu 300 times.

If the patient has phlegm and dampness, add Tui Liu Fu 300 times; rub Banmen and Yun Nei Bagua 100 to 200 times each.
