What causes tinnitus in children?

If a child keeps complaining about noise in his ears, but there is no sound in the surrounding environment, this is tinnitus. Mild tinnitus only exists for a short time, but severe tinnitus can cause restlessness. Don’t be overly nervous about short-term tinnitus. Avoid letting your child be in a noisy environment for a long time, and try to keep him/her in a quiet environment. However, if the tinnitus is persistent and accompanied by headaches and dizziness, you should seek medical attention as soon as possible to avoid damaging the child's hearing and causing irreversible consequences.

1. There are many causes of tinnitus in children, such as noise, drug poisoning, trauma, ear picking, etc. Noise: Compared with adults, children are more susceptible to noise harm, which can cause hearing damage, and their hearing often gradually deteriorates without any awareness. Drug poisoning: In recent years, drug abuse has become one of the main factors causing tinnitus in children. Trauma: For example, when children are naughty, some parents slap them hard in anger; during festive occasions, firecrackers suddenly explode next to children's ears; when swimming, the ears hit the water surface. The above external forces will cause the eardrum to rupture or perforate, which will directly cause hearing loss. Ear picking: When picking ears, it is very easy to puncture the thin eardrum deep in the child's ear canal, causing the eardrum to rupture or perforate. This will not only cause ear pain and bleeding, but also make the outer ear and middle ear cavity directly connected, allowing bacteria to take advantage of the opportunity to enter and cause infection. You must know that the eardrum is involved in sound conduction. If the eardrum is perforated, it will directly affect the child's hearing.

2. In addition to the above-mentioned causes of tinnitus, periarthritis and otitis media can also cause tinnitus. Lesions of the organs around the ear sometimes involve the middle ear cavity and cause hearing loss, such as rhinitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, etc. When abnormal suppurative otitis media occurs, the pus in the middle ear cavity will continue to increase, and the child will cry loudly because of the aggravated ear pain. These are the causes of tinnitus and tinnitus.

Tinnitus in children can be a serious matter or a minor one, and parents still need to observe carefully. Wearing headphones for a long time or setting off firecrackers too close can also affect your ears. At the same time, do not slap your children, as it will cause ear damage and hearing impairment. For the health of their children, parents must pay attention to their children's daily supervision.
