Why do newborns have red bloodshot eyes?

As we all know, newborns have poor physical fitness and their skin is more sensitive, so diseases can easily come to them. Some mothers will find that their baby has red bloodshot on their eyelids. What is the cause of this situation? Does it have any impact on the baby's body? Today, let the editor solve this problem for you, I hope it will be helpful to you.

1. It should be a hemangioma (capillary hemangioma). Capillary hemangiomas are often seen on the skin, with the largest number on the occipital region, head, face, limbs, and back, and many grow on the lips and tongue. Capillary hemangiomas vary in size, with large ones occupying large areas of the face or limbs and small ones being only a few millimeters and slightly above the skin. Capillary hemangiomas usually exist at birth, grow rapidly within 6 months, and gradually stop growing after one or two years of age. It affects the appearance and there is a risk of heavy bleeding if it is damaged, so parents should pay close attention. If the hemangioma is small, grows slowly, and is not in an exposed area, it may resolve on its own after it stops growing. If the hemangioma grows quickly and seriously affects the appearance, only a very small number of infantile hemangiomas will disappear. 80% of hemangiomas will leave deformities after disappearing. Superficial hemangiomas will have epithelial atrophy, capillary dilation and scars; subcutaneous hemangiomas will leave fibrofatty masses; mixed epithelial atrophy, capillary dilation, scars and fibrofatty masses, so treatment should be started immediately.

2. The red blood streaks are caused by the dilation of facial capillaries or the superficial distribution of some capillaries. The baby's skin is too thin because they are easy to see because they are just born. As the baby grows up, this symptom will gradually disappear, so there is no need to worry too much.

The above are two possible reasons for bloodshot eyelids in newborns that I want to introduce to you today. I hope my sharing will be helpful to you. In fact, because the baby's body resistance is relatively poor, mothers should pay more attention to the baby's physical health. The editor also wishes your baby good health.
