What to do if your child has a fever

What to do if your child has a fever

Every child’s growth from childhood to adulthood is the result of the hard care of their parents. When a child grows up to adulthood, his parents give the most for him. After the child is over 10 years old, parents don’t need to work so hard because children of this age are basically sensible. However, children under the age of 10 especially need the care of their parents. What should parents do if their child has a fever? Let’s see how to solve this problem.

1. Giving children soybean water is very useful for reducing fever. If the temperature is below 38.3 degrees, you can use physical cooling methods. If the temperature is above 39 degrees, you can take antipyretics.

2. Let your child wear less clothes to dissipate heat. The traditional idea is that when a child has a fever, he or she should be wrapped tightly with clothes and quilts to "force" the sweat out. In fact, this is wrong. When children have a fever, they will shiver and parents may think that their children have chills, but in fact, this is because their increased body temperature causes convulsions.

3. Wipe with warm water or take a warm bath: Wipe the child's head, armpits, limbs with a warm, wet towel or take a warm bath, scrub the skin more to promote heat dissipation.

4. Children with fever consume a lot of calories and lose a lot of water, so they should get enough rest and drink plenty of water. When sweating too much, add a little salt to the water to replenish electrolytes. Provide light, easily digestible food. The room temperature and humidity should be appropriate.

It is common for children to have fever, especially in spring when the temperature is bad, always cold and hot. Children are particularly susceptible to influenza and fever. Therefore, in spring, parents should not help children take off their clothes casually. They can only take off their clothes when it is warm in late spring and early summer. Parents should remember this little common sense.
