Diet therapy for neonatal genetic metabolic diseases

In fact, many babies nowadays have very poor physical constitution in all aspects, especially in terms of immunity, which may lead to neonatal genetic metabolic diseases, but people are afraid to use some drugs for treatment. Let us learn about the dietary therapy for neonatal genetic metabolic diseases.

Diet therapy:

1. Maintain an ideal weight. If you are overweight or obese, you should lose weight. However, weight loss should be gradual, otherwise it may easily lead to ketosis or acute gout attacks.

2. Carbohydrates can promote the excretion of uric acid. Patients can eat rice, steamed buns, pasta, etc. that are rich in carbohydrates.

3. Protein can be consumed in proportion according to body weight. 0.8 to 1 gram of protein should be consumed for 1 kilogram of body weight, and milk and eggs should be the main sources. If it is lean meat, chicken, duck, etc., it should be boiled and then eaten without soup. Avoid eating stewed or braised meat.

4. Eat less fat, because fat can reduce the excretion of uric acid. For patients with gout and hyperlipidemia, fat intake should be controlled within 20% to 25% of total calories.

5. Drink plenty of water. You should drink 2000ml to 3000ml of water every day to promote the excretion of uric acid.

6. Eat less salt, which should be limited to 2 to 5 grams per day.

7. Avoid drinking! Alcohol can easily cause lactic acid to accumulate in the body, inhibit the excretion of uric acid, and easily induce gout.

8. Use less strong seasonings or spices.

The above article introduces in detail some dietary therapies for neonatal genetic metabolic diseases. I believe that everyone has a more detailed understanding. So in daily life, if your baby also has such a situation, you still need to use dietary methods to treat it.
