Dosage of Spectramycin Injection for Children

Azithromycin injection is a medicine for treating pneumonia. When using it to treat the disease, you need to pay attention to the dosage. The dosage for each age group is different. The dosage for children is 250ml, and the dosage for adults is 500ml. When injecting this medicine, you must go to a regular hospital for the injection to avoid adverse reactions caused by the medicine. Let us now learn about the precautions of azithromycin injection.

Dosage

Add this product to 250ml or 500ml of 0.9% sodium chloride injection or 5% glucose injection to make the final azithromycin concentration 1.0-2.0mg/ml for intravenous drip for no less than 60 minutes.

For the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia, the adult dosage is 0.5 g each time, once a day, for at least 2 consecutive days. Then switch to oral azithromycin at 0.5 g/day, with a course of treatment of 7 to 10 days. The timing of switching to oral therapy should be determined by the physician based on clinical response.

For the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease, the adult dosage is 0.5g each time, once a day. After 1 or 2 days of medication, switch to azithromycin oral preparation 0.25g. The course of treatment is 7 days. The time to switch to oral treatment should be determined by the doctor based on clinical response. If anaerobic infection is suspected, anti-anaerobic drugs should be used concomitantly.

Adverse Reactions

1. Common adverse reactions of this product include:

① Gastrointestinal reactions: diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, loose stools, vomiting, etc.;

② Local reactions: pain at the injection site, local inflammation, etc.;

③Skin reactions: rash, itching, etc.;

④Other reactions: such as anorexia, dizziness or difficulty breathing.

2. This product may also cause the following reactions:

①Digestive system: indigestion, flatulence, oral candidiasis, gastritis, etc.;

② Nervous system: headache, drowsiness, etc.;

③Allergic reaction: bronchospasm, etc.;

④Other reactions: abnormal taste, etc.;

⑤ Laboratory examination: elevated serum ALT, AST, creatinine, LDH, bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase, and decreased white blood cell, neutrophil and platelet counts.

Taboo

It is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to azithromycin, erythromycin or any other macrolide drugs.

Precautions

1. Use with caution in patients with impaired liver function.

2. If allergic reactions occur during medication (such as angioedema, skin reactions, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrosis, etc.), the medication should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment measures should be taken.

3. During treatment, if the patient has diarrhea symptoms, it should be considered whether pseudomembranous colitis has occurred. If the diagnosis is confirmed, appropriate treatment measures should be taken, including maintaining water and electrolyte balance, supplementing protein, etc.

4. The infusion time of this product should be no less than 60 minutes each time, and the concentration of the infusion solution should not be higher than 2.0 mg/ml.

5. The solvent of this product contains ethanol. People who are allergic to ethanol should use it with caution.
