What to do if a child has acute gastritis

Acute gastritis in children is a common gastrointestinal disease, which can cause great harm to children. Because children are young and have relatively poor physical constitutions, they cannot digest certain foods completely. Therefore, the occurrence of acute gastritis is largely related to children’s diet. For example, eating certain unclean and unhygienic foods, or overeating and eating a lot of spicy, raw and cold snacks, these situations will lead to acute gastritis. So how to deal with such situations?

For the treatment of acute gastritis, fast for 6 to 12 hours in case of severe vomiting to allow the stomach to get sufficient rest. In order to prevent dehydration, you can drink small amounts of water multiple times after a temporary fast, several dozen milliliters each time, once every 1 to 2 hours. After the symptoms improve, you can start to eat a light liquid diet, such as rice soup, thin lotus root powder, and almond tea. Then gradually add some milk, egg custard, jelly and other foods, small meals multiple times, 5 to 6 times a day. When the condition is further stabilized, give a semi-liquid diet with little residue and soft rice with little residue.

1. Control the infection and give berberine and lactobacillus.

2. If the test results show anemia, you can take lysine inositol oral solution orally, which can improve the baby's resistance, increase appetite and improve anemia.

3. For those with severe vomiting and diarrhea, dehydration and water and electrolyte imbalance should be corrected in time. The best way is intravenous rehydration.

4. Pay attention to the frequency, nature and amount of your baby's bowel movements, and check the bowel movements if necessary.

5. Take good care of your baby's skin. Wash it with warm water and dry it after defecation, and apply talcum powder.

6. After discharge from the hospital, pay attention to food hygiene and proper feeding, and keep children warm when the climate changes. Avoid giving children antibiotics casually to avoid intestinal flora imbalance and prolonged enteritis.

The above is the treatment method for acute gastritis in children. Because children’s digestive function is not perfect enough, we must cultivate good eating habits for children in daily life. Do not let them eat unclean food, and try to let them eat less cold drinks or barbecued foods. Drink more boiled water and eat foods rich in vitamins. These are all conducive to protecting children’s stomachs.
