What to do if your child is prone to illness

Children are very easy to get sick due to their low resistance. Many parents are particularly worried when their children are sick, because children are the most important existence in a family. When children are sick, parents wish they could get sick for their children. The best way to prevent children from getting sick is to improve their resistance, give them more nutritional supplements and take them to exercise. So what should we do if children are prone to getting sick?

There are many reasons why children are prone to illness, which can be summarized as follows: first, children are too clean, which makes them more likely to get sick. Many people disagree with this. Recently, British scientists discovered in their research that when children play in the mud, their bodies get dirty, but the contact with a large number of microorganisms in the mud can make the children's immune system "recognize" the bacteria without being allergic to them.

John Richards, director of the Department of Psychology and Pediatrics at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK, who conducted the research, said: "People grow up with pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. Pathogens can make people sick, but they also contribute to the healthy development of the body's natural defense system." Not all bacteria are harmful to humans! Each bacterial community in the human body is in a state of balance. If this balance is broken, children are prone to symptoms such as diarrhea. For example, sometimes when a child suffers from respiratory diseases, he is given a lot of antibiotics. As a result, even some beneficial bacteria in the body are killed, while harmful bacteria multiply rapidly or mutate because they have no natural enemies, making the drugs less and less effective and the bacteria more and more drug-resistant. Appropriate exposure to bacteria is beneficial to enhancing immunity. In fact, it is impossible for people to always live in an environment completely free of bacteria. Instead of always avoiding contact with them, it is better to strengthen their immunity and not be afraid of bacterial invasion. John Richards believes that we grow up in a dirty environment, so we need an organizational structure that can resist "dirty" things. One way to resist is to avoid contact with things that carry pathogens and infectious diseases. The feeling of nausea and vomiting will make people instinctively stay away from things that make them feel unpleasant. The second form of resistance is the human immune system, which fights harmful pathogens that cause infections and allergic reactions.

The skin is our first line of defense. When it is not injured, our immunity is strong. The skin mucosa, oral mucosa, etc. are a natural barrier. When bacteria enter the body through broken skin or through the mucosal barrier, lymphocytes will take effect. Once they determine that a virus or bacteria is not native to the body but is foreign, they will kill these invaders. However, when the bacteria or virus that first invades the body is not recognized by the lymphocytes, it will bypass the lymphocytes and attack various organs, and the symptoms will be more severe after the person gets sick. This is why when many infectious diseases first come, the first group of infected patients are in serious condition. As the disease spreads, people generally develop some immunity, which is not enough to kill the virus or bacteria, but the symptoms of infection are relatively mild. If you never come into contact with bacteria in your life, you will have no ability to resist disease. People need to have contact with nature. Nature also has many favorable factors, such as oxygen, green plants, carbohydrates, etc. There are some bacteria and viruses mixed in the dust, in the soil or on the surface of objects, but we cannot avoid contact with them because we are afraid of these things.
