Treatment of facial abrasions in children

Treatment of facial abrasions in children

Many mothers do not want to face children's facial abrasions. We may have seen children with facial abrasions. Children's tics are not a disease, but children's facial abrasions have caused great trouble to many parents. Every parent hopes that their children will grow up strong and healthy. So, is there any good way to treat children's facial abrasions? Next, we will introduce in detail the treatment methods for children's facial abrasions.

Treatment:

1. Debridement: Since the surface of the abrasion is often stained with mud and other dirt, cleaning the wound is a key step in preventing wound infection. You can use light salt water (add 9 grams of table salt to 1000 ml of cold boiled water, the concentration is about 0.9%). If the conditions are not available, you can also use tap water or well water while flushing with a clean cotton ball to wash away mud and other dirt. 2. Disinfection: If conditions permit, you can use iodine or alcohol cotton balls to disinfect the area around the wound, and wipe along the edge of the wound outwards. Be careful not to apply iodine or alcohol into the wound, otherwise it will cause strong irritation and pain. You can also use 20% decoction of eucalyptus leaves instead of iodine or alcohol to disinfect the skin.

3. You can apply a little mercurochrome (chrome) on the wound. This medicine has an antiseptic effect and is less irritating. However, be careful not to use it with tincture of iodine, because both can generate mercuric iodide, which is corrosive to the skin; people who are allergic to mercury should not use it. It is not advisable to apply gentian violet to fresh wounds. Although this medicine has a strong bactericidal effect, it has a strong astringent effect. A hard scab is likely to form on the wound after application, and exudate accumulates in the tissue under the scab, which can easily cause infection.

4. Bandage the wound with sterilized gauze or clean cloth (you can iron it a few times). Small wounds do not need to be bandaged, but be careful to keep the wound clean and dry, and try not to get the wound wet before it scabs.

5. Treatment of infected wounds: If the wound is infected, wash the wound with light saline first and then apply gentian violet; or grind fresh violet yedoensis into powder, heat and disinfect it, add an equal amount of glycerin and twice the amount of water, mix it into a paste, apply it to the affected area, and change the dressing once a day or every other day. For early purulent inflammation of the skin and superficial soft tissue, the effect will be apparent after applying the medicine several times. You can also mash garlic to extract juice: take 1 part of garlic juice, add 3 to 4 parts of cold boiled water, and rinse the purulent wound. If necessary, you can also dilute the garlic juice by half and apply it on the skin, but garlic is somewhat irritating to the skin.

6. Children accidentally fall while running and playing, causing local skin abrasions. These abrasions are shallow and generally do not require going to the hospital. Just apply some mercurochrome or gentian violet on the wound. If the wound is dirty, rinse it with clean water. Otherwise, after the wound heals, dirt may remain in the skin and cannot be removed. Special care should be taken when facial abrasions occur to avoid affecting the child's appearance. There is no need to bandage the abrasions, but be careful to avoid getting them wet, dust or other dirt to prevent infection. For facial abrasions, be careful. If there is sand or coal slag embedded in the skin, scrub the wound with a soft brush in time. Do not leave any debris in the skin. Generally, do not apply gentian violet. If the abrasion is large, clean and disinfect the facial wound, apply oil gauze, and then bandage it.
