What to do about living in a noisy area? Will it be harmful to adolescence?

If the area where you live is noisy and the noise is loud, it will have a great impact on your health, especially for adolescents. First of all, it will damage your hearing, and have a certain impact on the cardiovascular system and the nervous system. For men, it will also damage the reproductive system, and for women, it will also affect the health of the reproductive system.

What to do about living in a noisy area? Will it be harmful to adolescence?

Studies have shown that high-intensity noise can damage hearing and have varying degrees of impact on the nervous, cardiovascular, endocrine, digestive systems, as well as vision and intelligence. Especially in terms of endocrine, loud noise can cause hyperthyroidism, leading to enhanced adrenal cortex function, increased basal metabolic rate, sexual dysfunction, menstrual disorders, etc., which in turn affect reproductive function.

For men, if they live in a noise environment of 70-80 decibels for a long time, their sexual function tends to weaken; if they live in an environment of more than 90 decibels, their sexual function is prone to disorder. Higher noise levels can result in semen not liquefying or ejaculation not occurring.

Even after pregnancy, long-term exposure to loud noise will affect the central nervous system and digestive system functions of pregnant women, causing dizziness, headaches, insomnia, aggravating early pregnancy reactions, and even causing severe vomiting or gastric ulcers. On the other hand, noise can also affect the growth of the fetus, leading to developmental delay, miscarriage, premature birth, low birth weight, weak constitution, multiple diseases, and hearing loss when growing up. Chinese scholars have tested the children born to women who were exposed to loud noise (above 95 decibels) during pregnancy and found that noise during pregnancy can also cause low IQ levels in the fetus. The reason for this may be that noise often causes uterine contractions, affecting the blood supply to the fetus, which in turn limits the development of the fetal nervous system.

It can be seen that noise pollution not only harms reproductive function, but also has an adverse impact on eugenics. Therefore, during the preparation period before pregnancy and during pregnancy, both husband and wife should try to avoid noisy environments and avoid high-frequency environments such as karaoke and concert halls. If environmental noise cannot be avoided, enhance personal protection, such as wearing ear defenders or earplugs.

Noise can also affect our vision

Noise can cause the eye to fail to respond to the symmetry and balance of moving objects. Noise can stimulate the nervous system and cause it to become inhibited. People who work in a noisy environment for a long time may also develop neurasthenia syndrome (such as headaches, dizziness, tinnitus, memory loss, decreased vision, etc.). For example, among flight attendants, there are fewer who are sensitive to the symmetrical balance of moving objects, and more who are slow. In addition, noise can cause abnormalities in color vision and color visual field.
