Dietary considerations for children with nephritic syndrome

Nephritic syndrome in children is generally more common in boys, especially children aged 3 years and above but under 6 years old are more likely to suffer from this disease. If you want to recover from nephritic syndrome in children as soon as possible, you must not only pay attention to actively cooperate with the treatment, but the most important thing is to start with diet adjustment and not add burden to the kidneys, so that nephritic syndrome in children can recover as soon as possible. Therefore, this article will give you a detailed analysis of the dietary precautions for nephritic syndrome in children.

1. Nephritis patients should limit high-fat foods. Nephritis patients have symptoms of hypertension and anemia. Animal fat is an unfavorable factor for hypertension and anemia because fat can aggravate arteriosclerosis and inhibit hematopoietic function. Therefore, nephritis patients should not consume too much animal fat.

2. Nephritis should limit foods high in purine and nitrogen. In order to reduce the burden on the kidneys, foods that stimulate kidney cells should be limited, such as spinach, celery, radishes, beans, soy products, sardines, chicken soup, fish soup, broth, etc.

3. People with nephritis cannot eat high-salt foods. The edema caused by nephritis is closely related to blood volume and sodium salt. Every gram of salt can bring in about 110 milliliters of water. If patients with nephritis consume too much salt and their urination function is impaired, the symptoms of edema will often worsen, the blood volume will increase, and heart failure will occur. Therefore, salt intake must be restricted and a low-salt diet must be given.

4. Limit plant protein for nephritis: Protein intake should depend on the condition of kidney function. When patients experience oliguria, edema, hypertension and nitrogen retention, daily protein intake should be controlled at 20-40 grams to reduce the burden on the kidneys and avoid the accumulation of non-protein nitrogen in the body.

5. People with nephritis should avoid eating strong condiments: Strong condiments such as pepper, mustard, coffee, chili, etc. are harmful to kidney function and should be avoided. Since MSG will make you thirsty after eating too much, you should also use less MSG when limiting your water intake.

I believe you are already clear about the dietary precautions for pediatric nephritic syndrome. I hope you can prepare food for your child according to these principles. In addition, children at this stage are generally in kindergarten, which requires parents and kindergarten teachers to communicate well and let the teachers give their children more care in normal times, so that the children can recover soon.
