How to prevent gastroesophageal reflux in babies

How to prevent gastroesophageal reflux in babies

My child is 5-6 years old. He was fine before, but now I don’t know what’s wrong. He has no appetite. Sometimes he starts to have gastroesophageal reflux soon after eating. I don’t know if he has a cold, but his physical condition is normal. I heard from my neighbor that this is a very normal phenomenon for children, but I don’t know if it will cause any harm to the child. Is there any way to prevent gastroesophageal reflux?

If your baby is uncomfortable, vomits every few minutes, or frequently vomits more than twice a day, he may have gastroesophageal reflux. Gastroesophageal reflux is the frequent upwelling of food being digested in the stomach. It can make the baby irritable and prevent him from eating properly. In the most severe cases, wheezing, coughing, and vomiting may also occur. If your baby has GERD, you will definitely notice it because you may have become fed up with his tantrums and cries long before they occur.

Most babies with GERD will get better on their own by the time they are 1 year old as their esophageal sphincter becomes stronger. But this doesn't mean you can take gastroesophageal reflux lightly. Reflux of stomach acid into the esophagus (known as "heartburn" in adults) can cause pain in the throat, scarring, and, if GERD is severe, even difficulty swallowing. Some babies even lose their appetite because of the pain.

Do you remember all the above methods? Children are the treasure of the family. Every parent hopes that their children can grow up healthy and happy. As long as everyone can remember what is said above and follow the correct treatment method, the problem of gastroesophageal reflux in the baby will be completely solved in the near future.
