What worries parents the most is often their children getting sick. Bronchial asthma is a relatively common disease in children. It often makes children have difficulty breathing when the disease occurs, which makes parents feel worried and distressed. There are many reasons that cause bronchial asthma in children. Let's take a look at the symptoms of bronchial asthma in children.

Symptoms of bronchial asthma in children:

1. Respiratory symptoms

Coughing occurs from the onset of the disease, often manifested as mild cough or paroxysmal cough, occasionally with white mucus sputum, and pharyngeal congestion can be seen. Regardless of the severity of the disease, patients all experience breath-holding to varying degrees. Severe cases may present with flaring of the nasal wings, respiratory distress, and cyanosis of the lips. Sometimes the breath sounds weaken, followed by varying degrees of wheezing sounds, and the wheezing symptoms usually ease within 1-3 days.

2. Circulatory system symptoms

After wheezing occurs, the heart rate gradually increases, sometimes exceeding 180 beats per minute, and up to 200 beats per minute in severe cases. Heart failure may even occur, with pale or gray complexion, cold limbs, and dull heart sounds. The child may also have symptoms such as irritability and rapid enlargement of the liver in a short period of time.

3. Neurological symptoms

Most children show symptoms of lethargy and drowsiness, sometimes alternating between irritability and lethargy. Severe cases have symptoms of brain disease such as convulsions, confusion, and coma.
