Is cerebellar atrophy hereditary and how to diagnose it yourself

Is cerebellar atrophy hereditary and how to diagnose it yourself

Seeing that their children behave differently from normal people, parents are always worried about it. What is the reason that causes their children to be different? I believe that many parents of children with cerebellar atrophy will have this thought in their minds. For a disease like cerebellar atrophy, it may be caused by genetic factors, so you should check the normal condition of the fetus.

At present, it is still impossible to fully reveal the cause of the disease and propose an effective treatment. The disease is located in the brain but localized in the kidney. The key to treatment lies in tonifying the kidney, replenishing qi, activating blood circulation, strengthening the brain, resolving phlegm, and opening the orifices. Multi-therapy can effectively prolong the brain's tolerance to hypoxia at normal pressure, improve meningeal microcirculation, promote capillary regeneration, nerve fiber growth and cell function recovery, and effectively improve brain hypoxia-ischemia symptoms.

Cerebellar atrophy usually has a familial genetic tendency. Those who develop the disease before the age of 20 are mostly autosomal recessive, while those who develop the disease after the age of 20 are mostly autosomal dominant. After long-term research, many scholars at home and abroad have located the Friedreich ataxia defect gene at 9q13~q21 and the OPCA genetic gene at 6p24~p23. It was also found to be related to many factors such as viral infection, immune deficiency, biochemical enzyme deficiency and abnormal DNA repair function, but its exact cause is still not very clear.

To determine whether you have cerebellar atrophy, you can use the following simple self-examination method.

1. Stand naturally with your feet together. Close your eyes and check whether you are stable.

2. Walk forward in a straight line with your heels next to your toes, and observe whether the movement is smooth.

3. Stand on one leg, then close your eyes and see if you are stable.

In order to be responsible for your child and yourself, it is very necessary to have a routine check-up before delivery. What the families of patients with cerebellar atrophy should pay attention to is to care for their children and not let them suffer from discrimination and psychological trauma. This will allow their children to better get rid of the harm of the disease. I hope you can understand.
