Diet therapy for recurrent cough in children

Recurrent coughing in children is a common disease among children. 1. Water chestnut and lily soup

Ingredients: 30 grams of water chestnuts (water chestnuts), 1 gram of lily, 1 pear, and appropriate amount of rock sugar.

Preparation and administration: Wash, peel and mash the water chestnuts, wash and chop the pears with skin and remove the cores, wash the lilies, mix the three, add water and boil, then add appropriate amount of rock sugar and cook until cooked and the soup is thick. Serve warm.

Indications and functions: Water chestnuts are sweet in taste and slightly cold in nature. They can clear away heat and promote fluid production, cool blood and detoxify, and resolve phlegm and eliminate accumulation. They contain starch, protein, fat, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin C and water chestnut. Water chestnut has inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Pears can clear away heat and promote fluid production, moisten dryness and resolve phlegm. Lilies can moisten the lungs and relieve coughs. The combination of the three can nourish yin and moisten dryness, resolve phlegm and relieve cough. Treats cough due to phlegm heat, yellow and thick phlegm, and sore throat.

Note: It is not suitable for people with spleen deficiency, loose stools, and clear sputum. It is not recommended for infants with blood deficiency and weak constitution.

2. Steamed pear with Fritillaria cirrhosa

Ingredients: one snow pear or duck pear, 6 grams of Fritillaria cirrhosa, and 20 grams of rock sugar.

Preparation and administration: Cut the pear at the stem, hollow out and remove the core, then grind the Fritillaria cirrhosa into powder. Put it into the pear and use a toothpick to restore and secure the handle. Put rock sugar in a large bowl, add a small amount of water, and steam for half an hour. Eat the steamed pear with the Fritillaria cirrhosa in it.

Indications and functions: Fritillaria is a good medicine for resolving phlegm and relieving cough. When used together with snow pear and rock sugar, it has the effects of resolving phlegm and relieving cough, moistening the lungs and nourishing yin. Treats chronic cough, excessive sputum, dry throat, shortness of breath and fatigue.

In addition to using the above-mentioned medication methods, parents should also pay attention to not taking their children to crowded public places during the peak season of respiratory diseases in autumn and winter to reduce the chance of illness. At the same time, cough variant asthma is actually asthma, and asthma is an allergic disease, that is, allergic reaction caused by abnormal immune function. Therefore, attention should be paid to improving and enhancing the child's immune function.
