What medicine should I apply to my baby's red buttocks?

When babies are young, parents usually hold their diapers and toilets because babies do not have the ability to urinate and defecate independently. In order to reduce the number of times parents have to help their babies defecate and the number of times their babies wet their pants, parents often stuff diapers under their babies' buttocks. However, some parents found that their baby's anus became red when they were changing the baby's poop and pee. This is usually caused by the diaper not being breathable. So what kind of ointment should be applied to relieve the baby's red anus?

Diaper rash, commonly known as red buttocks (i.e. red buttocks, a pediatric disease name), is a common skin disease among infants. It occurs in the area where the baby wears diapers. It refers to a disease with localized flaky erythema or blisters occurring in the diaper cyst area of the baby. It is an inflammatory skin lesion. It is a common skin inflammation in newborn babies. It is mostly due to the hot blood in children, delicate skin and flesh, and the diapers are soaked for too long. The hot and damp air mixes and causes skin ulcers. This disease is more common in infants.

How to treat baby's red butt?

1. Try not to wrap your baby in diapers. This is the best way to prevent diaper rash. It is best to let your baby's butt dry in the air for a few hours every day to avoid contact between the skin and urine.

2. Change diapers frequently. This is also a way to prevent diaper rash. Newborn babies urinate about every 15 to 20 minutes. Although their urine volume is only one tablespoon, we still recommend changing to a clean diaper every 2 to 3 hours, especially after the baby has a bowel movement, the diaper should be changed immediately.

3. If the skin is severely broken, you can use a 40-watt infrared desk lamp at home to irradiate the baby's buttocks, but be sure to keep a certain distance of 30-40cm and a moderate temperature. Expose 1-2 times a day, 15 minutes each time.

4. Do not wrap diapers with plastic sheets.

5. Expose your baby’s buttocks to the sun often.

6. If it is simple diaper dermatitis (that is, there is no infection), you can apply baby skin care products such as chloramphenicol. If it is infected, apply ointments such as clotrimazole.

Products containing hormones may cause a decrease in the baby's local skin resistance, aggravation of secondary infection, pigmentation and other problems. Therefore, the decision whether to use them should be made after consulting a doctor.

7. Do not use soap, laundry detergent or other strong irritants when washing diapers. Diapers with urine on them should be scalded with boiling water and then washed with clean water; diapers with feces can be washed with non-alkaline items such as soap and then placed in the sun to dry. Or you can use the Dihu Baby Plant Skin Care Cream. Do not wipe the buttocks directly with a towel. After cleaning, gently dry it with a towel. When applying skin-maintaining cream, you should place the cotton swab on the skin and roll it gently instead of brushing it up and down to avoid aggravating the pain and causing peeling.
