How to deal with baby urethritis

How to deal with baby urethritis

Don't think that children are not prone to some urinary system diseases. In fact, children are the most susceptible to infection. First of all, most children now often have the habit of wearing open-crotch pants and diapers, which causes the lower body to be wet for a long time. It is easy to cause urethral infections in many baby girls. Because the reproductive system of baby girls has low resistance, so what should be done about the baby's urethritis.

After a baby has a urinary tract infection, the urinary tract symptoms are not obvious, especially in newborns and infants under one year old. Most children only experience fever, reluctance to eat, pale complexion, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal distension and other systemic symptoms that are not caused by urinary tract infection. When systemic symptoms are more severe, there may be growth stagnation, slow weight gain, and even convulsions, drowsiness, jaundice and other manifestations. Clinical experts point out that the younger the age, the more likely it is to suffer kidney damage after a urinary tract infection.

Since babies usually do not have obvious urinary tract symptoms when they have urinary tract infections, the diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections can be delayed, resulting in recurrent urinary tract infections.

When the baby has the above symptoms, the mother should be very vigilant, especially when the baby cries during urination, or has frequent urination or stubborn diaper rash. There may be an infection of the urinary organs, and the mother should see a doctor as soon as possible and have a routine urine test. When urinary tract infections occur repeatedly, examinations to check for urinary tract malformations are necessary.

4 reasons for causing urinary tract infection in babies The reasons for urinary tract infection in babies are closely related to their own physiological characteristics:

1. Young babies need to use diapers frequently and cannot control urination and defecation, so the urethra opening is often contaminated by feces. In particular, female babies have shorter urethral openings, and male babies have foreskin of the penis. In addition, the urinary tract immune function and bladder defense mechanism are weak, which makes it easy for the urinary tract to have ascending infection.

2. Congenital malformations of the urinary tract have a higher incidence among all congenital malformations of the body. Malformations of the ureter, bladder, and lower urethra, for example, are prone to urinary tract infections.

3. The baby's body is not yet fully developed and is easily invaded by bacteria, so there is a high chance of using antibiotics. If antibiotics are abused, Gram-negative bacteria, especially Escherichia coli, will easily become dominant, destroying the defense barrier around the urethra, causing bacteria to invade the urinary tract and cause infection.

4. Babies whose mothers have bacteriuria during pregnancy or who lack breastfeeding after birth are also more likely to suffer from urinary tract infections. It is also related to the baby's physique. For example, weak local immune function and bladder defense mechanism can easily cause urinary tract infection.

Prevention of urinary tract infection in babies: I hope everyone has understood the above points. At the same time, during the baby care process, we must also do a good job in preventing urinary tract infection in children to reduce the occurrence of the disease.
