Baby's breathing sounds heavy

Baby's breathing sounds heavy

Everyone's breathing sounds are different. Some people's breathing sounds are relatively loud. This is related to each person's throat. When you have a cold, a blocked nose will also cause the breathing sounds to become louder. Inflammations such as rhinitis can also cause heavy breathing sounds. I hope mothers should understand why their baby's breathing sounds become heavier. As for the cause of the baby's heavy breathing, mothers are advised to check whether they have a cold.

1. This normal pattern is called periodic breathing. This is a normal sound. It is caused by the accumulation of saliva in the throat, and the gurgling sound is produced when air passes through it due to vibration. If your baby's heavy breathing is due to this normal development, her breathing may sound like it's being blocked, but she won't feel uncomfortable. As long as your baby eats and sleeps well, there is no need to worry about this "blockage". Once your baby learns to swallow excess saliva before teething, the heavy breathing will naturally disappear.

2. The child may have a cold. Pay close attention to whether the child is sleeping soundly and whether he or she has symptoms of fever or cough.

3. The baby may have inflammation, and the main cause of heavy nasal breathing is allergic rhinitis. Don’t think that only adults have allergic rhinitis. In fact, children can also have it. If you find that a child has rhinitis, you must treat it as soon as possible.

What to do if your baby's breathing sounds heavy

1. Children's nasal cavity is relatively short, the posterior nasal meatus is narrow, and they have no nasal hairs. However, their mucosa is tender and rich in blood vessels, so the nasal mucosa is prone to swelling and congestion, causing nasal congestion. If the baby does not have other symptoms, such as fever, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, etc., just give the baby more water. It is best to use a humidifier in the room or place a few basins of water in the room to increase the humidity in the room, which will reduce the symptoms of nasal mucosal hematoma and upper respiratory tract discomfort.

2. Alternatively, you can use a hot towel to apply heat around the child's nose, or gently massage the Yingxiang points on both sides of the child's nose.

Sometimes it is normal for a baby to have heavy breathing. It may be that the baby's respiratory system is not yet fully developed, or it may be that the baby has been playing too crazy and is a little tired. Of course, it cannot be ruled out that the baby's heavy breathing is a precursor to illness. In short, the possibilities are very diverse, and parents should carefully observe their children's situation to find out where the problem lies.
