The child vomits suddenly

Children's bodies are in a developmental period during their growth, and sudden vomiting in children is a relatively common phenomenon. Sudden vomiting in children may be due to the incomplete development of the child's gastrointestinal tract, or because the food they eat is not conducive to digestion, or eating unclean or spoiled food can easily cause children to vomit. Parents need to observe more.

What causes a child to vomit suddenly?

Generally speaking, the gastrointestinal system of babies is not fully developed. If they vomit suddenly, there are many reasons. It may be that they eat too much, eat too cold, or eat too fast. They may also eat something unclean, or exercise too vigorously and too excitedly after eating. Different reasons require different treatments.

However, after the last episode of vomiting, you need to abstain from water, food, and medication, and stay on an empty stomach for at least four hours to give your stomach time to repair. Then you can take metoclopramide oral solution to stop vomiting. Try to eat mainly rice porridge and noodles these days. If it is caused by cold, then you need to keep warm and pay attention to food hygiene. Eat small meals frequently. Do not exercise vigorously or cry after meals because the baby's stomach is relatively superficial.

There are several common reasons why babies spit up:

1. Large appetite but small stomach capacity.

2. The stomach is shallow and when filled with food, it is easy for the food to overflow due to the increased abdominal pressure caused by the twisting of the body.

3. There is a sphincter at the junction of the stomach and esophagus. Its function is to prevent the contents of the stomach from flowing back into the esophagus. However, the sphincter of infants and young children is not fully developed. 4. Most of the food for babies is liquid, which is easier to reflux in the stomach than solid food.

prevention:

1. Eat small meals frequently.

2. After each feeding, hold the baby straight to pass gas.

3. Do not let the baby suck too quickly when feeding, and pause for a while in between.

4. The hole of the bottle mouth should be moderate. If the hole is too small, it will be more difficult to suck, and the air will easily be inhaled into the mouth from the corners of the mouth and then swallowed into the stomach. If the hole of the nipple is too big, the milk will flood the throat and it will be easy to choke.

5. Do not let the baby lie flat immediately after feeding. Hold the baby upright and pat his back gently (the mother's hands should be cupped). If lying down, raise your baby's upper body and place him/her on his/her right side.

6. Avoid getting your baby excited or shaking after feeding. If your baby has such symptoms several times in a row and his mental state is not good, it is recommended to seek medical attention.
