Three month old baby has white spots on face

If a three-month-old baby has white spots on his face, parents should pay attention. There are many reasons for the appearance of these white spots, which are often related to some skin diseases, such as tinea versicolor caused by fungal infection, or roundworms in the baby's stomach, which will form worm spots. Of course, there is also a more common disease, which is pityriasis alba. What we should be most vitiligo-prone is vitiligo. Let’s take a look at this aspect.

White spots on the face may be caused by internal parasites, or they may be caused by problems with the skin itself. You can go to the hospital's dermatology department for a detailed examination. It may also be caused by vitamin deficiency.

1. Tinea versicolor

Also known as pityriasis versicolor, it is caused by fungal infection due to sweating in summer. It is recommended to use medicine or mash single garlic (or small garlic), wrap it with gauze, dip it in aged vinegar (preferably Zhenjiang aged vinegar) and rub the affected area (rub until local heat and slight tingling occur), three times a day, for 5-7 days, it is very effective.

2. Insect Spots

It is believed among the people that children with ascariasis may have white spots on their faces (commonly known as worm spots), white dots on their nails, and blue or purple-brown dots on their sclera. However, scientific investigation and research have proven that these are not unique manifestations of ascariasis and should not be used as a basis for diagnosis.

3. Pityriasis simplex:

This is common in children. The skin lesions are round or oval pink macules of varying sizes with unclear edges. After 1 to 2 weeks, the redness fades, leaving light spots. The surface is dry with a few small grayish-white scales. The diameter is 1 cm to several centimeters, with clear boundaries and slightly raised edges. There are usually 4 to 6 or more of them, symmetrically distributed on the face, and some are prone to occur on the neck, upper arms, back and even trunk.

Most children with this disease have no subjective symptoms, and a few have mild itching. The course of the disease is chronic and may not heal for several days or years, and then gradually disappear without leaving any trace.

The cause of this disease is unknown. It may be related to dry skin, strong sunlight exposure, or a manifestation of seborrheic dermatitis, or related to viral, fungal, or streptococcal infection. However, there is currently no definite evidence in the medical community to prove it. Some experts also believe that the disease is related to nutritional metabolism.

4. Lack of B vitamins. It is recommended to supplement B vitamins.
