Little red spots on baby's neck

Little red spots on baby's neck

For babies, if small red spots appear on their necks, the most common reason is eczema. Children's physical development is not yet complete, and their immunity is relatively poor. Internal factors or external factors often lead to eczema, such as wearing too many clothes or sweat soaking the skin, which often leads to symptoms of eczema. Therefore, we must strengthen prevention in this regard. Let's take a look at the facial features in this regard.

It could be eczema. If you are exclusively breastfeeding, you should pay attention to a light diet, avoid greasy, spicy and allergenic foods, and dress your child in pure cotton, breathable and dry clothes, and don't cover him or her too thickly.

Ways to care for babies with eczema include:

1. Babies with eczema should not come into contact with water too often, once a day or every other day is enough. When taking a bath, the water temperature should not be too hot, and do not use bath products with high alkaline content. Do not take a bath when the eczema is severe or exuding, especially do not let the affected area come into contact with water.

2. For babies whose eczema has already formed scabs, you can wipe them with vegetable oil (olive oil) to gradually soften the scabs.

3. Clothes and quilts should not be too thick to avoid irritation from sweat. Clothes should be loose, cotton fabrics are most suitable, and do not let sweaters, blankets, chemical fibers, etc. come into contact with the skin. Baby's clothes, diapers and pillowcases should be washed and changed frequently, and the detergent must be rinsed off thoroughly.

4. Avoid sun exposure as strong sunlight will aggravate your baby's eczema.

5. The baby's environment should be kept clean and dry, and the room temperature should not be too high. Reduce allergens in the environment such as house dust, mites, hair, artificial fibers, fungi (carpets, pets). Change the pillowcase every day. The part of the quilt that contacts the face can be sewed with cotton cloth to make a quilt head, and change it frequently every day. The basin for washing pillowcases and quilt heads should be separated from the basin for washing diapers.

6. The baby’s life should be regular and ensure adequate sleep.

7. Cut your baby’s nails short to prevent scratching the wound. Because of the extreme itching, children sometimes rub their faces against pillows or quilts, or rub them with their hands, so the baby's nails should be cut short, gloves should be worn, and both hands should be restrained before going to bed to prevent scratches from causing widespread skin lesions.
