Can a child's gene mutation be treated?

From a scientific point of view, gene sequences are relatively stable, but not 100% certain, because there are indeed cases of gene mutations in real life. Especially for some newborns, gene mutations may cause them to suffer from congenital diseases, which is very scary. In this case, then, in terms of clinical treatment, can a child's gene mutation be treated?

Can a child's gene mutation be treated?

There is still no specific treatment for gene mutation problems. We can only improve the various conditions that occur after the baby's gene mutation through symptomatic treatment. Gene mutations progress slowly and take a long time to discover.

Especially during pregnancy, if gene mutations can be discovered in time, timely improvements can be made in this situation. However, late discovery of gene mutations will affect its treatment effect. As long as the child can be treated for the disease in time, the effect will still be very obvious.

Causes of gene mutation

1. If the mutation occurs when the fertilized egg divides, it may be heritable because all cells in the body develop from the fertilized egg.

2. If the mutation occurs in a fetus that is almost formed or in the entire life process, it can be divided into three situations:

First, mutations that occur in somatic cells are not heritable;

Second, if a mutation occurs in a germ cell and the mutated germ cell successfully combines with the other to form a fertilized egg, the mutation will be passed on; if the mutated germ cell is not "used", it will not be passed on.

Third, if a gene mutation occurs in somatic cells, it can only be reflected in the body, while only gene mutations in germ cells can be inherited to the next generation.
