Children with laryngitis snoring during sleep

Snoring while sleeping is a common phenomenon, but most people who snore while sleeping are older adults. It seems that some children snore while sleeping. If children snore while sleeping, they are mostly suffering from rhinitis or pharyngitis. For children, if pharyngitis is not treated in time, it is likely to leave serious sequelae to the children. So what should children with laryngitis snore while sleeping?

Acute laryngitis in babies is usually caused by a virus, which can cause the baby's throat and respiratory tract to secrete a lot of mucus. The gradual accumulation of mucus will narrow the baby's respiratory tract. If the mucus becomes slightly thicker, it will easily block the respiratory tract and cause the child to have symptoms of difficulty breathing.

Acute laryngitis in children is common in children aged 6 months to 3 years. It is an acute inflammation of the laryngeal mucosa, mainly in the glottis area.

Acute laryngitis in children often occurs secondary to pharyngitis, rhinitis or colds, and symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, and hoarseness appear 1 to 2 days before the onset of the disease. As the disease progresses, the inflammation spreads downward from the pharynx, causing inflammatory swelling of the laryngeal mucosa. At this time, the child often suddenly develops a bamboo-breaking cough at night, has difficulty breathing, and has noises in the respiratory tract, sometimes making "roaring, roaring" sounds similar to a dog barking.

To summarize the general symptoms of laryngitis: hoarseness or sudden loss of voice, fever, nasal congestion, runny nose, barking cough, itchy throat, etc. The symptoms are milder during the day, but after falling asleep, the throat muscles relax, leading to blockage of secretions, causing the symptoms to worsen at night. Traditional Chinese medicine calls it "throat wind, laryngeal sound, laryngeal paralysis" etc.

TCM divides symptom treatment into three categories

1. Wind-cold attacks the throat: dry cough, like a dog barking, slightly hoarse voice, no fever or low fever, pale red tongue, thin white fur, floating and tight pulse, and floating red fingerprints at the wind gate.

Treatment principles: Dispel wind and cold, promote lung function and relieve sore throat.

2. Wind-heat attacks the throat: coughing like a dog barking, mild breath holding, sore throat, fever, red tip of the tongue, floating and rapid pulse, and floating purple fingerprints at the wind gate.

Treatment principles: Soothe wind and clear heat, relieve sore throat and reduce swelling.

3. Lung and stomach heat syndrome: obvious hoarseness, severe headache, difficulty swallowing, bright red and painful throat, red vocal cords with yellow turbid secretions, accompanied by high fever, thirst, irritability, bad breath, constipation; red tongue with yellow coating, and rapid pulse.

Treatment principles: Clear the lungs and stomach, detoxify, relieve sore throat and reduce swelling.

Because acute laryngitis attacks quickly, when a baby has acute laryngitis, parents can first give the baby pediatric massage at home to treat it, and then go to the doctor to see a doctor so as not to delay treatment. So if a child suffers from acute laryngitis, how should parents properly care for the baby to help him recover?
