Why does my baby often scratch his ears?

Every move of the baby makes parents very happy, but some actions show that the baby is uncomfortable. Parents need to be prepared to analyze, find the crux of the problem, and help the baby solve the discomfort problem in time. Babies make many abnormal movements, among which scratching their ears is a common one. Let’s take a look at why babies often scratch their ears.

Although it is a small action for babies to always scratch their ears, it may very likely indicate that the baby is ill. As parents, we must not ignore it and let the baby suffer so much.

1. The baby is sleepy and wants to sleep

If the mother is more careful, she will find that every baby will make his or her own unique body movements before falling asleep to convey the message "I'm sleepy" to the mother.

The more common body movements include: rubbing eyes, scratching ears, twisting the body, etc. At this time, what we mothers need to do is to stop teasing the baby and coax the baby to sleep.

2. Normal physiological phenomena

If a baby aged 3-6 months always scratches his ears, it may be a normal physiological phenomenon. The baby's hearing system begins to develop at 3 months old. Sometimes the two inner ears develop to different degrees, so the baby will feel like there is a foreign body in the ear and some imbalance in balance, so the baby will scratch his ears to relieve his discomfort.

3. The baby has otitis media

If your baby always scratches his ears and cries frequently, it is very likely that he has otitis media. Since babies have incomplete physical development and cannot speak, this symptom is easily overlooked. Generally speaking, the main reasons for this disease in babies are these three.

4. The baby has eczema on the ears

This means that there are some small red rashes around the baby's ears or in the inner ears. The number is uncertain, and there may be yellow discharge, but it usually makes the baby feel very itchy and he can't help scratching, even if the ears are bleeding, he will not give up.
