Is it dangerous for children to bend over?

In many dances, bending down is a very important basic skill, but it is also a very difficult movement. It requires the child to have very good flexibility, but it is also very dangerous and there are many things to pay attention to. Therefore, many parents are very worried that their children will be in danger when practicing this movement. So, is it dangerous for children to bend over?

First, is it dangerous for children to bend down? It is very dangerous for children to bend down while dancing, and they must practice under the supervision of a dance teacher. Inside the spine of humans and vertebrates, there is a longitudinal vertebral canal, and the spinal cord exists in the vertebral canal. The spinal cord is the lower part of the central nervous system. The upper end is connected to the medulla oblongata. The whole body is long columnar, with paired nerves called spinal nerves on both sides that are distributed to the skin, muscles, limbs and internal organs. Therefore, the spinal cord is the connecting pathway between the peripheral nerves and the brain and is also the center of many reflex activities. When practicing the waist-bending movement in dance, the spinal cord needs to be stretched. If the human spinal cord is stretched beyond the limit, or if there is a dangerous action such as losing balance and falling when bending down, spinal cord injury may occur. Spinal cord injury can cause mild partial impairment of motor and sensory functions, or severe cases of hemiplegia or complete paraplegia.

Second, because children’s bones have not yet matured and their ligaments are relatively loose, many movements cannot be practiced too early or excessively. Sports injuries of the spine mainly involve the cervical and lumbar vertebrae. Some movements in dance that involve overextension of the cervical spine and excessively rapid rotation can easily cause atlantoaxial rotational subluxation. Therefore, experts point out that movements such as bending over, splits, and handstands are not suitable for children under the age of 6. High-intensity exercises are best waited until elementary school and then gradually increased. Children under 6 years old are best not to try bending over and doing splits. High-intensity exercises should be gradually increased after they enter elementary school. If children want to practice bending over, they should proceed step by step and practice properly under protection.

Is it dangerous for children to bend down? Remember to warm up before practicing bending down, otherwise it is easy to get injured. First, rotate your butt three circles to the left and three circles to the right, do some stretching exercises, etc. Lie on the mat and press your waist backwards to make your bones soft and increase the strength of your waist and back muscles. First soften her and then help her move backwards. Practice 20 times a day to help her get into the habit. Let the child open her feet shoulder-width apart, and the parent lightly steps on the child's front feet barefoot (to fix them), lift the child's hands up, and lightly help from the back of the child's head down to the waist, let the child bend backwards, and after the child's hands touch the ground, crawl two steps towards her feet with both hands, and stand up. The parent should also cooperate with the child when exerting force.

When you are more proficient in bending down against the wall and feel that you don’t need to use too much force, you can try bending down with a parent’s supervision. If you have difficulty, you should continue to practice bending down against the wall. If you can do it, you should practice it for a period of time under the supervision of your parents. Once you are proficient, you can practice bending down by yourself!
