What are the symptoms of low emotional intelligence in children?

A person's emotional intelligence is very important, and it determines a person's future. For children, if they show some signs of low emotional intelligence, parents must pay attention to this aspect. For example, if children often complain, always lose their temper for no reason, are selfish, and often rely too much on their parents in daily life, these are all manifestations of low emotional intelligence.

What are the symptoms of low emotional intelligence in children?

1. Frequent Complaining

Before, I thought only adults would complain, complain about the unfairness of reality, and all kinds of complaints. Later, I accidentally saw that children would also complain. This requires parents to slowly enlighten their children, and teach them to think about many things in a positive way and not have negative emotions.

2. Always lose your temper

Some parents have reported that their children seem to have entered the rebellious period prematurely. They begin to frequently lose their temper when they are only two or three years old, and they throw things, hit people, and swear at others if they disagree with something. In fact, the reason is that the child’s sense of security has not been fully established and he cannot express his needs. There are also factors at home that lead to the child’s bad temper.

3. Selfish and stingy

When a child behaves in a particularly selfish way, such as not sharing his things with others, stealing other people's things, and harming the interests of others to satisfy himself, then this is a manifestation of selfishness. Most of the reasons are related to family factors, such as excessive pampering, letting children get along with you in everything at home, and giving them priority in everything. Then the children will get used to being spoiled and given in, and naturally will not be able to get along peacefully with their friends.

4. Over-dependence on parents

He asks his parents for help before doing anything. He has no independence, is timid and has no confidence at all. At this time, parents should let their children do things on their own, and cultivate their independence and ability to think independently.

5. Being afraid of strangers outside, but getting angry at parents at home

Some children dare not say a word when they are bullied outside, and when they return home they lose their temper with their parents like little emperors. These children will definitely not be able to adapt to social life in the future.

6. Never tolerate criticism

Some children can only listen to nice words and cannot bear to hear others say anything unpleasant about them. If others do not do what they want, they will cry and make a fuss. This is a manifestation of low emotional intelligence. Such children cannot face up to their own shortcomings and cannot distinguish right from wrong.

7. Like to refute others to show their own personality

I have met such children before. They like to interrupt others and then talk on their own. Whenever someone says one thing, he would insist on saying another, and he likes to use rebuttal to show how knowledgeable he is. This is an extremely arrogant and disrespectful behavior. People like this often cannot make friends. When a child exhibits this kind of behavior, parents should stop it.

8. Disrespect for others

Children like this usually use insulting words such as "You are so stupid" and "Idiot" as their catchphrases. Such children usually have poor interpersonal relationships and do not know how to respect others. No one chooses to be friends with such children.
