Does a large front fontanelle have any impact on a baby?

You may not be very familiar with the front font, but for people with children, they are more familiar with it. Some people will find that when the baby is just born, the anterior fontanelle is soft and a little big. These are signs of the baby's development. However, if some people have a relatively large anterior fontanelle, they may need to pay attention because it may be rickets.

1. An overly large fontanelle generally refers to the anterior fontanelle reaching a size of 4-5 cm shortly after the baby is born.

2. If the baby's fontanelle is too large, first of all, you should consider that the baby may have congenital hydrocephalus. Secondly, it may also be caused by congenital rickets. Parents should take the child to the doctor for diagnosis and treatment in time.

3. When a baby with congenital hydrocephalus is born, his head is squeezed when passing through the birth canal, so the fontanelle is not large when he is just born. But after a few days after birth, the anterior fontanelle usually begins to grow larger. When a baby with congenital rickets is born, not only will the anterior fontanelle be large, but the posterior fontanelle will also be large. The middle bone suture (sagittal suture) is also wider, connecting the front and back fontanelles.

What to do if the front halogen is too large

1. Persistently supplementing vitamin AD and calcium until the age of 3 can prevent rickets.

2. Calcium carbonate and calcium-zinc oral solution are both calcium supplements, while calcium-zinc oral solution is a zinc supplement.

3. If the baby is not zinc deficient, he can only take vitamin AD and calcium carbonate. If he is deficient in both calcium and zinc, he can take a separate zinc supplement at the same time as taking calcium carbonate.

There are different criteria for judging a baby's growth and development stages. However, it does not mean that babies who do not meet the standards are unhealthy. Therefore, parents must take their babies to regular hospitals or health centers for every child health check so that they can understand more clearly whether their babies meet the standards and what the reasons are if they do not. Only in this way can the baby grow up healthily without taking detours.
