Will a child's absence seizures go away?

Absence disorder in children is what we call minor epilepsy. It usually occurs in children between five and ten years old. However, the symptoms are not very serious. But will absence disorder in children disappear? At this time, parents still need to give their children drug treatment, and it also depends on whether the frequency of attacks is high. If the attacks recur frequently, medication is needed to improve the condition, and some Chinese medicines are also effective for treatment and conditioning.

Absence seizures in children, also known as petit mal seizures, are minor seizures of epilepsy that usually occur in children aged 5-10 years. The attack time is short (about 30 seconds) and the symptoms are not serious. The frequency of attacks varies from person to person. Some have an attack once every one or two months, while others have several attacks a day. But generally speaking, it will not affect the patient's intelligence. Except for special work, patients can study and work normally. In addition to drug treatment, family comfort and care are also important. Most children with absence seizures can recover on their own, but a few will have their condition worsen. So it is important to go to the hospital for regular check-ups.

Steps/Methods:

1. Whether drug treatment is needed depends on the specific condition. If the attack frequency is low and the patient can stop it in time when it occurs, then drug treatment is not needed, and in this case the patient is very likely to recover on his own. If the attack lasts for a long time and the frequency of attacks is high, drug treatment and regular check-ups are required.

2. Nowadays, many people choose traditional Chinese medicine treatment, which mainly focuses on calming epilepsy and extinguishing wind, resolving phlegm, relieving suffocation, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Common medicines include Dingxian Pills, alum, borax, Heche Dazao Pills, etc. The treatment cycle of traditional Chinese medicine is long, but the therapeutic effect is much more stable.

3.

Children aged 5-10 are not yet fully mature physically and mentally, and are in a period that is sensitive to the external environment. Therefore, when dealing with an absent child, you should pay attention to your language, give him/her timely care and attention, and do not give him/her the impression that he/she is different from others.

Note:

Because the onset of absence seizures in children is particular, it is best for them to have adult company. Children should not be allowed to ride small vehicles to avoid traffic accidents. Children should not stay in crowded places for too long to avoid attracting other people's attention during an attack and causing psychological trauma to the children.
