Everyone knows that babies grow very fast over a period of time. Basically, from the moment the baby is born, the baby undergoes huge changes every month. Just like in terms of physical condition, babies will grow very fast and have a strong learning ability. Also, because babies grow so fast, they will have very significant changes every month, such as a bigger appetite. Every baby will go through a growth spurt, which is a very important stage after the baby is born. During this stage, parents will find that the baby is growing rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye every day. His height, weight, head circumference, and facial features are changing and growing at a speed that surprises us, and he has mastered a series of behavioral skills such as raising his head, turning over, sitting, and reaching out. Generally speaking, babies will go through 7 growth spurts from birth to 1 year old: Newborns 7-10 days; 2-3 weeks; 4-6 weeks; 3 months; 4 months; 6 months; 9 months; After the baby is one year old, this growth spurt will gradually lengthen its cycle, occurring only once every few months; and the last experience is what we call puberty. Your baby's growth spurt doesn't come silently. There are some differences between babies in growth spurts and normal babies. Parents can use the following signs, combined with the baby's age stage (each baby is different, the time may be more or less biased) to determine whether the child has entered a growth spurt:
1. Increase your appetite Babies entering a growth spurt will suddenly have a huge appetite. In the past, they may have only needed to be fed once every 3 or 4 hours, but now they may need to eat every hour or even dozens of minutes, and each time they may take a long time to eat. Therefore, this often makes many mothers with insufficient milk feel stressed. 2. Poor sleep One to two days before the growth spurt, your baby will become sleepier than usual. Once the growth spurt really begins, his sleep will become unstable, his sleep time may be shorter than before, and he will wake up more often to feed in the middle of the night, and the same is true during the day.
3. Irritability For many babies who are experiencing a growth spurt, it is not only their bodies that grow, but also their tempers. If the mother's breast milk supply does not keep up, and they themselves do not get enough sleep, they will easily become irritable, and they will vent their dissatisfaction by crying. Faced with these situations, parents should be patient and take corresponding care measures according to the baby's different performances. For example, when the child wants to breastfeed, you can breastfeed on demand; when the baby does not sleep well or is in a bad mood, you can pat him gently, or hold him in your arms and rock him gently, talk to him, tell him stories, and play his favorite music to soothe him. This will help the baby successfully pass through the growth spurt. |
