What to do if your baby vomits after taking medicine

It is indeed a headache for adults to feed babies medicine. Seeing the baby crying non-stop, I really don’t want to feed the baby medicine. However, babies with colds and fevers must take medicine and get injections to cure the disease. If the medicine is too bitter, you can let the baby eat a small piece of candy first to make the baby’s mouth sweeter before feeding the baby medicine. When your baby is crying, do not force medicine into his mouth, otherwise he may choke.

First give your baby some sweeter medicine, such as western medicine like anti-inflammatory granules, so that the baby will feel that medicine can be sweet. Then give him some bitter Chinese patent medicine and he will like it much better.

If the baby still feels that the medicine is bitter, you can prepare a small piece of rock sugar. After the baby drinks the medicine, you can reward the baby with a piece of rock sugar. The baby will not spit out the medicine after eating the rock sugar. Be careful not to use too much rock sugar.

When the baby closes his mouth and refuses to take medicine, you can use a large spoon to pry the baby's mouth open (don't hurt the baby), and then use a small spoon to pour the diluted medicine into the baby's mouth along the large spoon, being careful not to choke the baby.

When feeding your baby several kinds of medicine, try to let him finish it in one breath. If there is a pause in the middle, the baby will cry and refuse to take the medicine. If your baby really doesn't want to take the medicine, you can pour the decoction into a clean, unused syringe, without a needle, and inject it into the corner of the baby's mouth. Or buy a special feeding machine for your baby, which is safer.

After taking the medicine, give your baby a few sips of warm water to quickly wash the medicine down. Pat the baby's back from top to bottom from time to time to allow the medicine to be digested in the stomach as quickly as possible to prevent the baby from vomiting.

No matter what medicine it is, try to give it to your baby after meals, so that the side effects are relatively small and it will not irritate the baby's delicate stomach. And the dosage must be controlled carefully and not exceeded.
