1. In terms of heat energy, the younger you are, the more active your metabolism is. In order to adapt to this high metabolism, a large amount of heat energy must be consumed to maintain growth and development needs. For babies under 6 months old, 500 kilojoules per kilogram of body weight are needed per day, and 420 kilojoules per kilogram of body weight are needed for babies 7-12 months old.

2. Infants need more protein than adults. Protein is not only used to replenish daily metabolic losses, but also to supply the needs of new tissues that are constantly added during growth. Generally speaking, children under 1 year old need to be supplied with 2.0-2.5 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day if they are fed with human milk, 3-4 grams if they are fed with milk, and 3 grams if they are fed with a mixture of breast milk and milk. For infants who eat mixed diets, animal protein should not be less than half of the total protein. The protein requirement for infants can be calculated based on the daily requirement per person. The proportion of calories that each person needs to obtain from protein per day should account for more than 15% for infants under 1 year old. If an infant lacks protein, it will affect growth and development, especially brain development, causing slow weight and height gain, muscle relaxation, anemia and decreased resistance. In severe cases, it can cause malnutrition edema. Milk porridge, chicken porridge, fish porridge, chicken liver paste, bean paste, etc. added after 4 months are all good sources of protein for babies.

3. Fat: Babies need more fat than adults. Newborns need about 7 grams per kilogram of body weight per day, babies aged 2-3 months need about 6 grams, and babies over 6 months need about 4 grams. The amount of fat then gradually decreases to 3-3.5 grams per kilogram of body weight per day.

The best way to solve children's muscular malnutrition is to help our children supplement nutrition in all aspects. We must eat more vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins and more meat rich in protein. Doing some proper physical exercise every day can also effectively help us alleviate the problem of malnutrition.
