What calcium tablets are good for 8-year-old children?

We all know that the most indispensable thing for children in their growth process is calcium, so many mothers give their children calcium tablets when taking care of them. For eight-year-old children, this is the time when they grow the fastest and their bones develop the fastest. At this time, the baby not only needs calcium supplementation, but also some other vitamins and trace elements. So what kind of calcium tablets are better for 8-year-old children?

People need to take calcium supplements throughout their lives, let alone children who are growing and developing. However, you should first consider dietary supplements, and then consider medicinal supplements if dietary supplements are not possible. Drink a bag of milk each morning and evening (milk powder, it is best to have a bag of milk in the morning and a bag of yogurt in the evening), add more seaweed, dried shrimps, green leafy vegetables, mushrooms, fish, and soy products to your diet, spend more time outdoors to get more sunlight, and develop good sleeping habits, and that's actually enough.

We can calculate the approximate amount of calcium a child needs in a day: about 300 to 400 mg from the diet, and about 500 to 600 mg from milk, which adds up to 800 to 1,000 mg of calcium. The daily calcium requirement for a growing child is 800 to 1,200 mg, and calcium deposition will be accelerated as long as the calcium exceeds 800 mg. Therefore, dietary supplements can easily meet the need. If the diet cannot take care of it, you can take some calcium tablets appropriately, but 200 to 300 mg at a time is appropriate. More than that is a waste. Calcium D chewable tablets should be more suitable for children (a small amount of vitamin D is added and the calcium content is also higher than the standard 300 mg).

The main symptoms of excessive calcium supplementation are edema, sweating, anorexia, nausea, constipation, and indigestion. Severe cases can easily cause hypercalciuria. At the same time, excessive calcium supplementation in children may also limit brain development and affect growth. If the blood calcium concentration is too high, calcium will be deposited around the cornea, which will affect vision; if it is deposited on the heart valves, it will affect heart function; if it is deposited on the blood vessel walls, it will aggravate vascular sclerosis, etc.

Guidance: Calcium supplementation should be carried out under the guidance of a doctor. For children who are not obviously deficient in calcium, they can supplement it through foods such as soy products, dairy products and fish, and combine it with the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Sunbathing and outdoor exercise are the best natural calcium preparations, and milk should be the first choice of calcium supplement food. For people who do not drink milk, yogurt can be used instead of milk. Calcium supplementation through a balanced diet is not only feasible, but also more effective, cost-effective, safer and longer-lasting.
