Best time to give your baby a bath

Babies have poor body resistance, so it is important to keep their bodies clean and keep microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi away from them. Bathing a baby is a big issue, and the choice of time is very particular. Some people say it is best to bathe the baby at noon, some think it is best to bathe the baby after meals, and some think it is best to bathe the baby before going to bed at night. So, when is the best time to bathe a baby? Let’s take a look below.

1. It is best to take a bath half an hour before dinner: increase appetite + promote sleep

In fact, letting your baby take a bath half an hour before dinner (6 or 7 p.m.) has certain benefits. First of all, taking a bath will make the child consume a certain amount of physical energy, increase his desire to eat, and make him eat dinner more deliciously. Secondly, bathing your child before dinner can save time at night and allow your child to go to bed earlier, which is conducive to cultivating good habits of going to bed early and getting up early, and will also make the child have a better appetite in the morning. If your child has a poor appetite or has trouble sleeping at night, try giving him a bath before dinner.

2. It is best to take a bath at 1 or 2 o'clock in the afternoon: to resist the cold and avoid catching a cold

The biggest fear when bathing your baby is that he will catch a cold, especially in winter. The temperature at noon is relatively high, so giving your baby a bath at noon is a good choice to help prevent him from catching a cold. However, it should be noted that the baby should wait 1 to 2 hours after lunch before taking a bath, otherwise it will be detrimental to digestion.

However, if you cannot arrange your time at noon, you can consider taking a bath in the afternoon. This can not only prevent you from catching a cold at night, but also save time for bathing at night, which is conducive to falling asleep as soon as possible.

3. It is best to bathe your baby at least 2 hours before bedtime.

Many adults are accustomed to taking a bath before going to bed at night, believing that it can promote blood circulation, relax the body and mind, and help sleep. However, sleep quality is related to body temperature, and high body temperature is not conducive to falling asleep quickly. If you bathe your child too late at night, close to bedtime, the child's body temperature will be high and he or she will be more likely to fall asleep.

Therefore, bathing too late before bedtime may not be suitable for babies or even adults. Families with this habit are advised to adjust the bathing time and make sure to bathe the baby at night at least 2 hours before bedtime.
