What to do if your child's skin is always itchy

Children's physical conditions are rather special, and the disease affects both boys and girls. Many children often experience itchy skin in their daily lives, which makes parents anxious. Children's skin is always itchy due to improper care. With reasonable and proper care and standardized treatment, the condition can slowly recover.

Nursing of children with skin pruritus

1. If children have skin itching, make sure they stay away from all items in the home that may cause skin damage as much as possible, and reduce environmental allergens: Dust and dust mites are the most common allergens and one of the key factors causing children's skin itching. Therefore, it is best not to use carpets at home, and you should try to use leather and wooden furniture; pay attention to keeping the environment clean and reduce dust. The room temperature should be kept at around 25℃~28℃, and the humidity in the living room should also be maintained between 30% and 60%. Keep children away from stuffed toys, pets at home, and secondhand smoke. At the same time, chemical substances such as detergents, laundry detergents, disinfectants, etc. should not come into direct contact with the baby's skin.

2. Master the essentials of bathing: the water temperature should be moderate, preferably between 33℃ and 40℃. Water temperature that is too high can easily wash away the oil on children's skin, so the sooner you wash, the better; avoid using irritating chemicals and disinfectants, and also avoid using lanolin or sheep lotion (because lanolin itself may cause allergies); in winter when there is less sweating, choose to wash the armpits, hands and feet; minimize the use of alkaline soaps, and do not scrub the baby's skin with a towel, brush or sponge.

3. Choose cotton clothing: It is best to choose loose and soft cotton clothing. Even bedding, furniture decorations, etc. should try to avoid factors that irritate children's skin. Children's skin should not come into direct contact with artificial or rough fibers such as wool, nylon, and denim. Chemical fiber fabrics are irritating to children's skin and can easily cause allergic reactions such as dermatitis and itching.

As long as the above three points can be achieved, very good care can be provided to children with itchy skin. I hope all parents of children with itchy skin can do this.
