What is the lack of children's poor sleep

When children are young, many parents will choose to let their babies sleep next to them for easy care. Some parents will leave their children with a nanny or let them sleep in their own room, and check on their babies' sleep regularly at night. Many parents have reported that their babies’ sleep at night is not as good as before and they want to know why. Some experienced parents said it might be something in the child’s body. What are the reasons why children lack sleep?

So what is the reason why children do not sleep well?

1. Poor environment: The place where you sleep is too noisy, and wearing too many or too few clothes or blankets will affect your sleep. In addition, insect bites and sudden changes in sleeping places can also cause babies to have restless sleep.

2. Improper feeding: Some parents are always worried that their babies are not full, so they feed their babies more food before going to bed, which causes excessive burden on the baby's intestines at night, symptoms of indigestion, and restless sleep at night. It is recommended to feed solid foods such as porridge and noodles two or three hours before going to bed, and drink a little milk one hour before going to bed. As your baby gets older, you can stop feeding him at night to allow all organs in the body to relax, so that your baby will sleep more soundly.

3. Lack of sense of security: Most children have a strong sense of dependence on their parents, and as they grow older, their sense of self-protection increases. Sometimes babies will turn over and sit up shortly after falling asleep or before they really wake up, and cry when they can't see adults. Generally, they can continue to sleep after their parents comfort them. This need for security is particularly acute if you are sleeping in an unfamiliar environment.

4. Bad living habits: playing too excitedly before going to bed; irregular sleeping time; sleeping with a pacifier at night. These bad habits can easily lead to unstable sleep. It is recommended that parents do not hold their baby immediately or tease him when he is crying. Most children will fall asleep naturally after waking up for a few minutes at night. If he can't fall asleep naturally, patting and comforting him will help him fall asleep again.

5. Nighttime urination: When the baby feels the urge to urinate at night, he will be frightened and cry, and will fall asleep naturally after urinating. In addition, diapers that are too tight or too swollen can also cause babies to sleep uneasily.

6. Mental and psychological stimulation: If the baby suffers from greater emotional fluctuations or psychological harm, such as fright, abuse, etc., he will sleep uneasily at night. In addition, if parents neglect emotional communication and comfort for their babies, it may also cause long-term poor sleep.

7. Physiological tics: Babies’ neurological development is immature and they often have some physiological and neurological regulation disorders. This type of tic will not occur when the child is awake. If the neurological examination and EEG examination are normal, the long-term prognosis is good and no treatment is required. Generally, the symptoms will gradually disappear with age.

8. Other reasons: night panic attacks, non-epileptic tonic seizures, head shaking, fear reactions, etc. Most of these situations are caused by the baby’s own insufficient adjustment ability. Generally, no treatment is required and they will disappear naturally with age.
