Six month old baby frequently wakes up at night

In everyone's impression, babies eat and sleep as a whole, and rarely cry or make a fuss. Once a baby starts crying or making a fuss, it means that the baby is uncomfortable. If the mother finds that the baby wakes up frequently at night, if the baby cries or is irritable while waking up at night, the mother should pay attention to observe the reasons for the baby's phenomenon.

Intestinal colic:

This disease is common in newborn babies aged 3-6 weeks. The onset is usually very acute, often in the afternoon and at night. The baby will have symptoms such as flushed face, clenched fists and kicking feet, so the possibility of colic cannot be ruled out if the baby wakes up at night.

Nasal congestion:

The baby's nose is blocked by nasal crust, or nasal congestion caused by other conditions such as sinusitis, colds, etc. can also cause the baby to wake up at night.

indigestion:

The baby's digestive function is not yet perfect, and his ability to digest food is weak. If he eats too much during the day, he may have difficulty falling asleep at night due to bloating.

Otitis media:

Babies who are still breastfeeding are particularly prone to choking on milk. The milk can flow back into the middle ear through the baby's Eustachian tube, which can easily cause acute suppurative otitis media. Otitis media can cause ear pain and fever in babies. If your baby is restless, scratches his ears, wakes up at night and cries incessantly, it may be because he has otitis media.

eczema:

Eczema can cause redness, peeling, and itching on the baby's skin. When sleeping at night, the baby's attention is more focused and he is more sensitive to itching, which causes him to wake up at night.

Wet diaper

The benefits of diapers are obvious. Traditional cloth diapers will increase the discomfort when the baby urinates at night, but diapers with poor absorbency will also increase the baby's night waking. Diaper rash and urinary tract infections can also make it painful for your baby to urinate at night.

Too cold, too hot

Being woken up by cold is easy to deal with, but being woken up by heat is more common. The mother needs to check whether she is overdressing her child. In addition, uncomfortable pajamas and bedding can also cause more night awakenings.

Separation anxiety

Sleeping in a separate bed or in a different room from mom and dad can make some sensitive babies feel insecure. Another situation is that the mother is worried that breastfeeding at night will affect the father's rest, so she lets the father sleep in another room. Some babies will feel anxious because of this.
