A big reason for a child's swollen lower lip is internal heat. Parents need to find the real cause of the disease from the diet. Do not give your children heavy-tasting food or food that is not conducive to digestion, because their gastrointestinal tract is not yet fully developed, which will cause internal heat. In this case, they can only use some Chinese herbal medicines to treat their condition to avoid any side effects. (1) Stagnation of liver qi and disorder of qi secretion lead to obstruction of qi flow. Over time, this leads to qi stagnation and blood stasis, which block the blood vessels and eventually form a mass. Liver depression and qi stagnation often affect the spleen and stomach, causing the spleen to fail to function properly, dampness and turbidity to accumulate, resulting in the formation of qi, blood, phlegm and turbidity. As the "Surgery Authentic" says: "The liver and spleen qi are reversed, resulting in obstruction of the meridians and accumulation of nodules." (2) The lung meridian is exposed to heat, lung yin is damaged, qi is unfavorable, and the function of descending is lost, resulting in the retention of fluid and the generation of phlegm. The circulation of nutrient and defensive qi and blood is blocked, and the phlegm stagnates in the meridians for a long time and gradually accumulates into a tumor. (3) Overeating, overwork and fatigue damage the spleen, causing it to lose its healthy function and lose its ability to transport and transform water and dampness. Over time, this accumulates into phlegm, which blocks the flow of qi. When combined with external pathogenic heat or internal heat, the fire and phlegm and dampness flow through the meridians and condense into a mass. It is a common cyst of the oral mucosa, usually occurring on the lower lip, and is the size of a grain of rice or a peanut. It may also gradually swell to become a swelling on the lip. It is soft and slightly yellow, and transparent. If it ruptures, a yellowish or white liquid will flow out, which will recur after disappearing. After multiple recurrences, the tissue will thicken, turn white, and become hard. Systemic symptoms can be divided into: (1) Liver Qi stagnation, Qi stagnation and blood stasis: Symptoms include bitter taste in the mouth and dry throat, dizziness, chest tightness, belching, abdominal distension and pain, flank pain, tinnitus, red tongue with petechiae on the sides of the tongue, yellow tongue coating, and stringy or fine pulse. (2) Heat in the lung meridian and stagnation of phlegm and dampness: Common symptoms include headache, fatigue, chest and flank fullness, shortness of breath, or itchy throat, cough, sputum, white or slightly yellow and greasy tongue coating, and slow or stringy pulse. (3) The spleen fails to function properly, and dampness and turbidity flow into the body: Symptoms include heavy head, fatigue in the limbs, cough, large amount of thin white sputum, poor appetite, abdominal distension, fat tongue, and greasy white coating. If there is also heat, the tongue will be red, with a greasy yellow coating, and yellow urine. |
