When you go to the hospital to see a doctor, many of the professional terms used by the doctor are difficult to understand for people who have not studied medicine, and many of them need to be explained by the doctor in plain language. Language expression is a very important subject. Good expression can promote communication between people and achieve twice the result with half the effort. Some children still can't speak when they are 2 or 3 years old. After going to the hospital for examination, the doctor diagnoses them as motor language disorder. So what is motor language disorder?
Speech disorder: refers to abnormalities in articulation, speech fluency, voice, or a combination of the above. Secondary speech disorder: speech disorder caused by language abnormality, that is, speech disorder caused by difficulties in understanding language, or speech disorder caused by speech abnormality combined with language abnormality. Developmental speech disorder: An individual's ability to learn speech is impaired due to some abnormality in congenital brain neurological learning. Mixed speech disorders: Individuals have problems or difficulties in the physiological structure of speech, brain nerve learning, and language understanding, resulting in mixed speech disorders.
The causes of language disorders can be divided into two categories. One is primary language disorders, which include difficulty in pronunciation, unclear expression, unfluent speech and stuttering. Difficulty in pronunciation is mostly caused by chronic laryngitis, vocal cord inflammation and nodules due to frequent respiratory tract infections and improper pronunciation. Stuttering in children around three years old is a change in speech rhythm, but only a small number of these children continue to have this problem into adulthood. Some data show that stuttering has obvious family factors, suggesting that it may be related to genetics. The other type is called secondary language disorder. The main reason is mental retardation. Language development disorder due to intellectual disability; hearing impairment, which leads to language disorder; mental illness, psychological disorder and unwillingness to communicate with others, which leads to language disorder over time;Certain brain diseases cause language barriers; some children live in families where multiple dialects are mixed, and they cannot adapt, which causes language barriers; or children who live in an environment lacking language stimulation and whose listening and speaking abilities are not trained can also cause language barriers. So, as parents, when your child develops to the stage where he or she can speak, you should observe his or her listening and speaking abilities in a timely manner. If you are afraid that your judgment is inaccurate, you should take your child to the hospital for a health check and hearing screening to detect problems early and intervene early. |
