In daily life, many parents will find that their children have abnormal bowel movements. For example, some children's stools are relatively thick, even reaching the volume of adult stools. This situation is difficult for many parents to understand, and they begin to worry whether there is any problem with their children's stomachs, such as digestive function, or they have eaten something they should not have. So what are the reasons for this situation? For babies who are just a few months old, if they are fed with formula, their stools are usually light yellow or khaki in color, relatively dry and rough, like hard paste, and often have an unpleasant fecal odor. If there is more sugar in the milk, the stool may become soft and have a slightly rotten odor, and the amount of stool will be larger each time. Sometimes there is grayish white "milk curds" mixed in the stool. Don't compare your child with other children, because each child has his or her own growth trajectory, and different children have different daily bowel movement times. But be careful. If you normally only have 1 to 2 bowel movements a day, and this suddenly increases to 5 to 6 times a day, you should consider whether you are sick. There are five factors that affect the volume of your child’s stool: 1. The intake of dietary fiber is low. Eating more vegetables, fruits and whole grains on a daily basis are the foods most favored by beneficial intestinal bacteria. 2. Excessive intake of meat. Many meat foods contain very little dietary fiber. If children like to eat meat and cannot live without it, it will easily lead to harmful bacteria dominating the intestines. 3. Food additives food effects. Nowadays, there are a wide variety of snacks for children. Artificial preservatives, artificial colors, colorants, thickening agents and other food additives are used at an excessive level. They will have a negative impact on the growth and proliferation of intestinal flora, especially preservatives. In order to prevent food spoilage, preservatives contain ingredients that inhibit bacterial proliferation. If children like to eat foods containing these, the beneficial bacteria in the intestines will be harmed. 4. Antibiotic use. Antibiotics have the effect of inhibiting the proliferation of pathogens, but at the same time they also kill beneficial bacteria, which of course will have a negative impact on intestinal flora. 5. Excessive attention to hygiene. On the contrary, it is not conducive to the establishment of healthy intestinal flora in children. It is said that the largest feces on the earth are those of Mexicans. We also found that the people of this country are very cheerful and have a very low suicide rate. So, having large feces is not necessarily a bad thing, it may be a good thing! Of course, if you have been constipated for several days, and you pass a lot of stool at one time, and the stool is smelly, black, and hard, that is a different matter. |
