What to do if a 7-year-old child is constipated

Generally speaking, adults have the habit of constipation, but what should we do if a 7-year-old child is constipated? Children's constipation is mainly caused by unreasonable diet and excessive consumption of greasy food. If a child suffers from constipation, it is necessary to promptly improve the child's diet and adjust the nutrients he or she consumes. If the constipation is too severe, it is best to choose medication to improve it, but do not use too much medication to avoid dependence on the medication.

What to do if a 7-year-old child has long-term constipation

The most important thing in treating constipation in children is to focus on conditioning and nursing. Try to adjust the dietary structure, diversify the diet, and let children eat more fruits, vegetables and other foods rich in crude fiber. Finally, pay attention to replenishing water. Drink a glass of honey water or cold boiled water on an empty stomach half an hour after getting up in the morning and before each meal. This can help moisturize the intestines and promote bowel movements. For children who still have constipation after adjustment, appropriate medication can be used for treatment.

It is reported that most children's constipation is caused by deficiency syndrome, and they can take some laxatives to treat it, such as Ma Ren Run Chang Wan. When a child's stool is dry and hard and stuck in the rectum, the problem can be temporarily solved by using enema to inject some bowel cleansing lotion, suppository, etc.

If a child is found to be constipated for a long time, the real reason should be found out. At this time, attention should also be paid to treating children's constipation, and improving diet is a key point. Control the intake of commercially available children's foods such as cereals, cakes, and biscuits, and induce them to drink more water. Fiber foods such as carrots, green vegetables, bamboo shoots, potatoes, corn, and other high-quality foods should be their common table dishes.

In addition, changing your lifestyle habits is also important. Cultivate good habits of going to bed early and getting up early and defecating in the morning. After persisting for a period of time, constipation will improve or be cured. If the constipation is particularly severe, you can use laxatives under the guidance of a doctor, but you must not use laxatives frequently or for a long time on your own. Otherwise, the constipation will not be cured and new symptoms will be added.

What to do if your child has constipation

1. Massage

Place your palm flat on the baby's navel with your palm facing down, and gently massage in a clockwise direction. This can speed up intestinal peristalsis, promote bowel movements, and aid digestion.

2. Enema

Let the baby lie on his side and cut open the tip of the enema. The tube mouth must be smooth to avoid hurting the baby's skin. Insert the tube of the enema into the baby's anus, gently squeeze the plastic bag to allow the medicine to enter the anus, then pull out the empty shell of the enema, and clamp a clean tissue at the baby's anus to prevent the liquid from overflowing and staining clothes or sheets. Try to let the medicine stay in the baby's body as long as possible to fully stimulate the intestines, soften the stool, and achieve the best laxative effect.

3. Glycerin suppository

Open the wrapping paper of the glycerin suppository, slowly insert it into the baby's anus, and then gently press the anus. Try to wait as long as possible to allow the glycerin suppository to fully melt before encouraging the baby to defecate.

4. Soap bars

Cut the soap into conical strips about 3 cm long and as thick as a pencil. First moisten the soap strips with a little water, then slowly insert them into the baby's anus. Try to let the soap strips stay in the anus for as long as possible to fully promote intestinal peristalsis.
