Delayed growth of children

Delayed growth of children

A child's height is the most representative feature of his or her physical development. When compared with children of the same age, if a child's height is shorter than that of other children, it is suspected that the child has physical retardation. It is normal for children to have differences in height development, and there are many factors that affect children's height. If you want to promote children's growth, you must take some measures. So, what should we do if our children have delayed height development? Let’s take a look at it below.

1. Proper exercise

Generally speaking, vertical exercise is more conducive to the secretion of growth hormone. The so-called vertical exercise, in layman's terms, is jumping exercise and high jump exercise. Therefore, we can encourage children to do more jumping exercises such as skipping rope and high jump. Swimming, climbing stairs and other exercises can also greatly promote height. However, one thing that needs to be reminded is that only exercise that lasts for more than 10 minutes can more effectively promote the secretion of growth hormone. Therefore, one exercise should be at least 10 minutes, preferably about 10 to 15 minutes, twice a day, and persevere.

2. Balanced nutrition

Eat more milk and dairy products. Infants under 1 year old should mainly drink milk. Infants between 1 and 2 years old should ensure at least 600 ml of milk per day. Toddlers between 2 and 5 years old should ensure at least 500 ml of milk per day. Children over 5 years old should ensure at least 300 ml of milk per day, and this amount of milk should continue until the end of puberty.

3. Get enough sleep

Ensuring adequate sleep is very important for the secretion of growth hormone. Therefore, children should develop the habit of going to bed before 9 o'clock, and no later than 9:30 at the latest, and each sleep time during the day should not be less than 2 hours.

In general, there are many factors that affect the height of young children, such as lack of exercise, malnutrition, lack of trace elements, lack of sleep, etc., which may lead to delayed height development in young children. In this regard, it is recommended to improve the problem of delayed height development in young children through these four aspects. If your child is not growing taller, be sure to consult a doctor immediately.
