What are the differences between baby indigestion and enteritis?

The gastrointestinal health of babies is very fragile, and generally problems often occur, causing great trouble to the baby and causing serious adverse effects on the baby's growth and development. For example, baby indigestion and intestinal inflammation are common examples. What are the differences between baby indigestion and enteritis? Let’s take a look at the explanation below. I hope parents can understand it.

Baby's enteritis can cause thick and mucous stools and indigestion, which is like diarrhea. If you want to be sure, you can have a blood test to see if there is inflammation. You can take antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs to improve the condition. Indigestion is a symptom, and enteritis is a disease. Indigestion can be said to be a symptom of enteritis. Diarrhea and vomiting can also be considered indigestion.

When indigestion occurs, you should do the following:

1. Stop eating and implement "starvation therapy".

Fast for one or two meals as appropriate. During the fasting period, you can drink light salt water according to your thirst to replenish water and salt in time. You can also drink sugar + salt water, because sugar can be quickly absorbed and will not increase the gastrointestinal burden. If you don't need to fast completely, you can reduce the amount of food you eat, or only eat easily digestible porridge with some appetizers. This makes the gastrointestinal tract feel relaxed and comfortable, and indigestion is easier to correct. Eat less irritating foods, raw and cold foods, as well as coffee, chocolate, potatoes, sweet potatoes and acidic foods. Eat small meals frequently and avoid smoking and drinking.

2. Appropriate use of digestive aids should generally be under the guidance of a specialist. If it is an over-the-counter drug, you can use it according to the drug instructions.

3. For mild indigestion, or just temporary overeating, you can take a walk after the meal, gently massage your abdomen, and participate in sports or physical labor 1-2 hours later to increase the body's calorie consumption and eliminate the indigestion as soon as possible.

If indigestion symptoms appear, avoid eating meat, greasy food, seafood and other foods that are difficult to digest. It is also not advisable to eat too much dessert or ice cream. You must eat mainly light food for 1-2 days to allow the gastrointestinal tract to clear out indigestible food residues and restore the digestive function.
